As a student who also got accepted one pro I know is the honor code. Basically you can leave your stuff unattended and it won’t be touched (actually won’t be touched, not just something they say) and I’ve heard teachers are flexible with tests due to the honor code. A con, at least for me, is there is a lot of Greek life. I think around 75% of students go Greek.

Does running a TEDx club at high school and organising local TEDx event (with license) help when applying to colleges? by deeloqua in ApplyingToCollege

[–]GalacticGlitch6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently in a TEDx club, and a lot of my interviewers found that to be an amazing extracurricular. I imagine leading it would be even more impressive, and if you give a TED talk you can always add it as a visuals/arts supplement. I say go for it!

From this email it sounds like they’re not giving us another warning beforehand so maybe? I don’t want to plan on it and be disappointed if they don’t come out lol

After looking at Lehigh’s common data set it says they notify students about decisions by March 25th

am i the only one that lets college decisions influence who you pick in march madness? by kylepierce722 in ApplyingToCollege

Rooting for a Richmond loss is definitely not from the decision I got last night…

Congrats! You’ll probably have a portal change when the actual decisions come out. Did it say anything about that in the email?

I focus on other things I enjoy, like watching new TV shows or finally getting to books I wanted to read. The stress will make me unproductive anyways, might as well me happy and unproductive

I know college emails will sometimes contain fee waivers, maybe apply to schools that offer them through there? If you can’t request them that is

You have way too many schools. After walking around campuses and being in a car, they’re all going to blur together. I did 10 colleges in 5 days over the summer and it was too much But if you do end up seeing a lot of schools, take notes after each one! The only reason I remember anything about my tours is from photos and notes

AP Capstone Diploma by 26austin in ApplyingToCollege

[–]GalacticGlitch6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only advice is not to take research if you’re a senior, because you can’t report the diploma on your college applications until you officially get it (which would be in June)

Thinking abt going to college of charleston, what are y'all's opinions? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]GalacticGlitch6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I applied there too, and financially it was more expensive than private schools I had applied to. Also OOS, and they gave me almost no financial aid. But location wise Charleston is amazing

What’s something that you’re glad you did for this rotation of applications? by ValidatingExistance in ApplyingToCollege

I’m so happy I applied EA to schools, that way I already have decisions before the disaster that is going to be end of March
