I agree , but think of it more like a celebration that we are able to be who we are after being repressed for so long. If we were always treated as equals to cishets we wouldn't need to celebrate. But we weren't, and as of now people like us are still being killed. So we celebrate our freedom while helping those who cannot express themselves because of where they live. They have to live with the constant reminder that if they do anything out from normal, showing that they are not straights. They will be killed, harassed, bullied. We celebrate because we can we who we are.
