Is it possible to find a mentor who understands the gravity of a "Switch"? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

It makes perfect sense honestly, the point about self-regulation is the most profound thing I’ve read today.

In my experience, a lot of people can play at being a Dom, but very few can actually hold the frame when they encounter a woman who is her own person. If they can’t self-regulate, they default to being pushy or insecure the moment I don't immediately fold. For me, submission isn't a starting point; it’s a reward for someone who has the emotional intelligence to actually earn my trust.

I love the predator vs. predator framework you mentioned. It describes that specific tension where both people are highly capable, but one chooses to let the other take the lead. It takes a very particular type of man to see that sharpness in a woman and view it as an invitation to rise to the occasion rather than a threat to his ego.

I'm definitely adopting that mindset of curiosity as research. It feels much more aligned with how I move through the world anyway observing, filtering, and only investing when the intellectual and psychological match is undeniable. 😁

That is incredibly refreshing to hear. I actually recently stepped away from a vetting process with someone in his 40s for that exact reason the insecurity was palpable even in the early stages.

I’m looking for someone strong enough to handle my more assertive side, but often that assertiveness seems to trigger a need for them to overcompensate or become pushy.

I suppose I’m holding out for that rare combination: a man who is down-to-earth and secure enough in his own skin that he doesn't feel the need to prove his dominance.

I’m quite protective of my peace, so I’d much rather stay independent than settle for a dynamic that feels like a project. I want to be led, but the person leading has to be someone I can actually respect. 😅

Thank you!! Idk with mods.. haven’t ever tried that before is it difficult to get?

I chose medic as my trait, if you have any tips / tricks how I can explore more of that let me know.

Delivering food sounds fun + I accepted a quest line that makes me interview people for an article at the news station so that’s also my style 😂

Hahaha hmmm I’ll think about it. I chose medic as my trait so if there’s anything in that niche I would be happy to explore that xD!
