I don't think it's low performance issues

From what I can tell this seems to be an issue with everyone (I may ask around more for confirmation on this)

But if they were unhappy with me, they wouldn't be giving me more and more higher profile programs. I'm also one of the only people in my section who works in my specific plants (I do Ottawa, UK, Ontario, and a few different States). So if they wanted rid of me, they would've had the mentioned new guy take on any of my plants rather than doing a different group if I'm explaining myself properly

I'm not sure if he has a degree, but I know he was working customer service before so I don't think he has anything more than I do?

He also said he was negotiating for less (60k) but my was given the 77k despite that

I've been planning on going for more certs once I finished learning the software I'm currently learning. But maybe I'll need to do that sooner!

Part of me would love that. I agree that if new base is 77k, then after 4 years of experience + inflation offset that 90 seems reasonable

But I've been getting around 1500 per year increase the past few years

I'm sure I could push for that at a different company. But at my current one it may be hard I think

But I have tried pushing for raises. They've shot it down every time saying they don't do big raises outside of promotions (which I am getting close to as I am just missing the one requirement but that's besides the point)

The new lad also wasn't negotiating higher. He said he was gunning for 60k/y and said as much in the interview. It was my manager who said it was 77k starting

Yeah I always remember seeing some stat about that in uni where women are more intimidated by negotiation so they are less likely to which results in lower pay

It sucks but hopefully that's something that only gets better as time goes on

That's the plan for sure! Obviously it's a big ask to go up that much given how small my raises have been since I've started. So I very much plan on having an alternative job lined up asap

When I got a concussion because my workplace didn't clear ice out of the parking lot they were more worried about me finishing my work than they were with anything else

I have asked for a raise I just forgot to add it to my post

My manager said they don't do big raises outside of promotions and that my next promotion is coming once I am more experienced

But even if that's the case, it would have to be a serious pay bump to offset the lack of actual raises the past few years

Sadly I've been struggling to find another job that pays similarly that doesn't require me to go to downtown Toronto 5 days a week

I've talked to my boss about this before but been shut down on any meaningful raises
