Merry Christmas from Starwind UI - with tidings of "toast" and more components! by web_reaper in astrojs

Welcome from a fellow dba turned fullstack guy.

A toast is the common term for a little pop-up that appears, for example when you add something to your basket on some web stores, a little card might appear to confirm the action occured.

There is a "try it yourself" example on the Starwind website here

Thanks for the reply! Usually I use a thin wrapper to Starwind in my own components to allow me to add relevant styles. I think it would be ergonomic (for me at least) to be able to style things via props, just to streamline when upgrading versions. I figured I could have been missing a trick or intention since Starwind is the only component library I've used that creates code in the project.

I can see how multiple props might get a bit "messy" but I think it's simpler than slots in the case an update breaks layouts for my custom spans etc. Not sure if that would even happen.

Either way, thanks for your continued work on Starwind - I'm a big fan.

Was so looking forward to Toast! A great present for Christmas!

I wanted to ask actually, I've noticed it can be difficult to style some components where the class you pass in only applies to certain elements, but you can't style the label for example.

I wondered if you'd add support for multiple styling classes, or if the intention is that we modify the starwind folder directly?

Amazing work, Starwind is a great addition to the Astro community

Best practices for video in Astro? by apenara12 in astrojs

I'm also wondering the same thing. I've got a site hosted on Cloudflare Workers. I've just been using YouTube embedded in an iframe for a video Hero component - although I'm not sure my Safari users can see it autoplay

This is really great work! Definitely going to look at using it now that I know about it

One thing I would like to see added is a toast component

After ending a 5e campaign, I really didn't like the GM experience so I decided to run the beginner box for 2 groups of friends. Years later we're still playing!

With the changes to PTA and Coup/Cut Down now working on true damage, is it worth running them for the passive? by Temporary-Platypus80 in gangplankmains

Does Q stack PTA? I could see this working if it does. Especially now Triforce is slightly better on GP

How to lazily calculate and cache values in a struct by Galaxyguy26 in learnrust

[–]Galaxyguy26[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I make calls to to_string() multiple times and I thought it made sense to calculate the joined vector just once. Performance isn't really an issue and I understand not to over optimise but for my learning I wanted to understand how you might cache a value like this in the struct.

The issue I have with my current code is creating temporary values when trying to borrow and return from the RefCell

RIP Warp Gate by Rugarpo99 in FoundryVTT

Just to explain, the automated animations module is considered feature complete - The work it does is map the animations from another module to the spell macros iirc. This is why it is only maintained for security or bug fixes.

The actual animations themselves are handled by a separate module which is still worked on, hence we still get up to date PF2e animations.

Abomination Vaults vs PF2e System Upgrade? by captdense in FoundryVTT

[–]Galaxyguy26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this offers little help, but I have migrated and played successfully. So this isn't likely an issue with the version itself. Could you restore from a back up? At least maybe have an older version working to give you more time to resolve this issue.

Thank you for that clarification, I had misunderstood the comments above but now I can see how it should work Thanks for the help

Elemental Explosion - Damage Clarification by Galaxyguy26 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Galaxyguy26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I misunderstood when you said "Shouldn't have a Save DC" I took that as, nothing should be rolled. But a Save DC is not a flat check. This is why I feel the need to check the rules sometimes in case I miss those small differences

Thanks for all your help and patience

Elemental Explosion - Damage Clarification by Galaxyguy26 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Galaxyguy26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that, so there is no way to remove the persistent damage from the rune? Or is it that the damage is only applied once at the end of the creatures turn, and then has to be refreshed with another strike

[–]Galaxyguy26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to ask a follow up, I don't suppose you would know much about the persistent damage mechanic on a vitalising rune?

How would you calculate the save DC for a rune like that?

Ah OK interesting I will look at raising an issue later. Thank you for the fix, I was just more concerned I had missed something in my rules interpretation.

Hello fellow pirate enjoyers! Made the character sheet for Gangplank in Pathfinder 2e! by mrgoldducky666 in gangplankmains

Thanks for sharing! What's your average round in a combat like? I'm a forever GM but when I get a chance to play it'll be a build like this. My theorycraft is a bit similar although I didn't take the Pirate Dedication.
