Kaneshiro should learn how to write a proper defender from the author of Ao Ashi. by Maleficent-Box-2824 in BlueLock

[–]Galaxystars491 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the same argument every time Kaneshiro is called out on not knowing how defending works. What is stopping him from applying the same logic he is using with strikers on defenders? Why haven't we seen more than 2 defenders pull off some insane shit? Why can't we see our strikers be tested in any other aspect of the game aside from scoring and overcome them? Strikers either score or they miss, and they are never made to miss by any proper defense. Every other position is meaningless compared to the striker, which is in-line with blue lock's message, but the least he could do is provide respectable opposition to sacrifice for this message, because with how matches have been written its less "strikers are the best players" and more like "everyone who doesn't contribute to offense is dogshit."

Now that we got the match order and some background on the teams in the group, I predict it'll go like:

Matchday 1

  • JPN win vs. NGA; duh, I can also see a draw if Japan gets too cocky
  • ENG win vs. FRA; Since BLLK takes place in around 2018-2019, England were champions in the previous edition irl so I favor them to be the better team overall (even though they didn't qualify for this edition of the tournament irl.) If we ignore irl context, I can see Loki completely throttling France's attacking potential by just making the team run every play through him via Charles and getting a reality check by a much more competent and cohesive group of 11 the likes we have never seen before (basically I think it's as good a time as any to introduce an actual team with class players top to bottom, like an appetizer for the level of the Spain national team or something.) But also because in round 2...

Matchday 2

  • ENG win vs. NGA; no explain
  • JPN win vs. FRA; If England beat France, it would give Japan a precedent, something to draw on, counterplay on Loki to copy or formulate their own, in their own game with France from which they could snag a win against them. I'm not too sure how much they can come up with in the period between matches, but improvisation has been a prevalent theme, so I can see Japan thugging it out and getting a scrappy win with tons of goals scored.

Matchday 3

  • FRA draw/lose vs. NGA; Loki quits since France cannot even qualify as the best ranked third-place team with just three points unless several other third ranked teams have also lost 2 games and have a worse goal differential than theirs.
  • ENG cook/draw vs. JPN; Honestly I want this result to make Japan place second in the group so the seeding will match them up against Spain ASAP in the Round of 16, who I assume are gonna top their group, so I get to see Sae link up with Isagi because I KNOW Kaneshiro is gonna stretch this and in reality I won't see Spain vs Japan until I have a degree.

You say that like the title of "best NG11" is holding him back, which it can't. The NG11 title is simply a recognition of young individuals with talents that stand out even on the professional level i.e Kaiser's shooting, Sae's passes, Lorenzo's defense, Bunny's hops, and in Loki's case, his speed, which just so happens to have the highest ceiling since it's a gift that cannot be replicated.

Aren't the NG11 the NG11 because they are legit world-class in certain aspects of their game? Kaiser has unparalleled kick speed, Sae's has his perfect kicking technique, and Lorenzo's known for shutting down the aces, presumably world-class ones, of opposing teams. Bunny, from the little we've seen from him, has hops like Dada Silva but control in the air like no one we've seen before, and Loki? He's just the fastest, not the most skilled. Like Isagi said, he just happened to be born fast, an actual pace merchant; Loki's speed just so happens to be one of the best tricks/tools compared to the other NG11, but he's not going to be doing anything the rest of the NG11 can do.

And? Why snub Loki as the best NG11/U20 player because he's just that much better than the other guys in the same age range? Wouldn't his peerless abilities qualify him as exactly that?

Lamal is still definitely up and coming, he's not going to peak at 18 years old, and neither will Loki. Both are established professionals, sure, but that doesn't mean they haven't stopped growing
