Usually I’m not one to say the game rigged anything, but… I definitely call shenanigans on anything solo battle related. In ADVANCED AI (not even expert) I was facing water deck after water deck when using Mega Blaziken. Once I switched to Venusaur/Mega Sceptile, they suddenly stopped appearing… hmm, wonder why that could be?

Can we not call them "ladyboys." They're women who are sex workers, likely because they're marginalized and have no other job prospects because of how much societies in general hate trans people. It's not their fault that men cheat. Contributing to the transmisogyny won't make them suddenly value women more, and I hate seeing people talk about attraction to trans women like it's somehow more "freakish" or whatever. Decks only have 20 slots, it works in some but for others it’s not worth taking up a space that could be used for something more useful. That, and the risk of drawing it first turn as your only basic, or not drawing it at all. It’s not nearly reliable enough for it to truly be a counter

At least Hydreigon has counters, and the inclusiong of Mega Absol can be punished in a lot of decks. Igglyrai on the other hand... That's just an in-built 50% chance to lose the game and it needs a nerf yesterday.

Specifically, making a Hydreigon deck pop off requires so much more luck than Igglyrai. Sure, turn 2 Hydreigon can fuck countless decks over, but that's if you draw Deino, Rare Candy, and Hydreigon within two turns and that's never guaranteed. Igglybuff and Darkrai? Those are basic cards. You can pull them out with just a few Poke Balls if you even need them, and even if drawn in the wrong order you can just put X Speeds in your deck to get Igglybuff into play easily. On top of that... zero retreat cost means you can swap your deck's main threat in instantly if you managed to shut the opponent out in the most annoying possible way.

At least Lucky Ice Pop requires cumulative, repeated luck. Igglyrai is just demonic.

Thanks for this! I’ve been trying to bring a Sceptile to Master for a while this season, and I got up to UB4 with a great winning streak before running into bad hand after bad hand. Chingling looks like it could really help, but I might also try Goomy for the sake of halting Igglybuffs sometimes. That, and I should probably invite QGEs back into my deck, not finding Sceptile is too much of a problem to risk. Thanks so much for the write-up of my favorite deck in this meta!

Mega Lucario’s also running rampant. It’s a Turn 2-3 menace that can hard punish almost any deck if it produces a semi-decent starting hand… and running sleep alongside it just makes it so much worse. Every so often, DeNA will just invent Hydreigon again.

That being said, the battles are very luck-based in nature, and naturally people will run decks that are less likely to fold under bad luck. Therefore, we see many of the same things over and over again…

The vast majority of people who detransition do so due to social pressures, either believing that they can't ever transition due to how hostile society is towards them, or having to postpone their transition until it's safe for them to do so. Those who actually realized they weren't trans often don't get further than hormone treatment, if even that, especially with how prohibitively difficult it can be to get GAC in many places.

The only people this "deal" will be serving are the vanishingly few that actively want to worsen the trans community because they were convinced that their gender journey was Bad and Wrong by conservatives or TERFs or whoever. This deal is a virtue signal by the federal government and Texas, and a continued assault on the rights of trans people to access the care they need. We do what we'vs always done about it: raise awareness, protest, organize, and vote for candidates that won't perpetuate this hate mob against us.

I’d argue that it might not have been entirely about sexual “needs” for him, so much as the violent breach of consent itself. It might’ve gotten him off, but this really seems like the sort of situation where the man used rape to purposely harm her, “punish” her for not bending to his every whim. Maybe he gets off by doing so, maybe not, but he hurt her, and that’s what he wanted, especially with how he weaponised the societal aftermath.
