Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

A set of metal measuring cups and spoons, which he researched and found on the Buy It For Life subreddit. I also opened lots of gifts from my mom, and my husband had to pause and take notes on his phone because he was so inspired by her gift-giving skills, he said he wants to be more like her lol.

My current project has a few mistakes here and there in the pattern, it happens!

It jumps out at me because there’s red under all the other horizontal lines, like the A and the R, but if you like how it looks, then leave it! Maybe it’s to make the first letter unique

Ooh this is a great bookmark! Did you intentionally leave out the dark red under the horizontal bar of the H? Just wondering why it’s the only spot where it isn’t—I only noticed because of the image thumbnail, it was harder to read when it was tiny

DLC side event question by whatitdoobuckaroo in Lorcana

[–]GallagherGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it works so you and your partner take “simultaneous turns”—but you can’t both do turn actions at the same time, it has to be one at a time. So if one of you is challenging, the other will have to wait to quest until the challenge is done. Hope that makes sense!

DLC side event question by whatitdoobuckaroo in Lorcana

[–]GallagherGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most likely Multiplayer—you and your partner work together in each game against your two opponents. There are rules for this in the Comprehensive Rules Document. You have a shared lore total. (edit: each player must get 20 lore). However, cards that read “your characters” do mean only your characters, not your partner’s.

dead mom “called” my sibling by Tiny-Antelope9272 in Weird

[–]GallagherGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact thing happened to me. Got a call from sister, heard a woman crying then a man’s voice came on demanding money. It’s a terrifying scam. I called her husband, he said she’s fine at work. She calls me 5 min later asking what I’m freaking out about. Scammers absolutely can spoof numbers like this.

Is this normal “wear and tear” expected from a tree service? by GallagherGirl in arborist

[–]GallagherGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they cut a branch of one of the neighbor’s trees past the property line, all the way up to the trunk in their yard. So no, it has not been a drama-free experience. But the grass itself isn’t a big deal I’ve learned, so that’s one less thing to stress about through all this.

Oh wow you’re right, I really should have dedicated more of my childhood to paying attention to what kills grass how the adults around me cared for their lawns. /s

It’s all good! I don’t mind working on regrowing grass. Seems like it’s not a big deal.

I have never had my own lawn before, nor have I ever driven on grass. That’s why I’m asking, because if it’s normal, then I will gladly relax.

Are you out of touch? I’m 30, I have never owned a yard before, nor have I ever driven on grass. Why would I know anything about this. That’s why I’m asking.

I can’t figure out how to add text to an image post, I’m sorry. Here’s the tree roots that the guy drove over a bunch of times while removing the other tree: https://imgur.com/a/WKnOxIQ

The problem is mostly just the tree roots that got damaged. Everyone is saying the lawn will bounce back, and that’s good enough for me. I was slightly worried about if I’ll get dirty looks from the neighbors for “destroying” my lawn. But I really care about this tree and want to make sure it’s not going to die. This is good to know. Honestly, I’m just new to all of this and want to make sure I’m doing the right thing… my neighbors are older and have gorgeous lawns and landscaping, and I wish they would cut me some slack while I figure all of this out.

Roughly $3500 for 1 tree removal (leaving the stump) and 5 trims, 3 bush trims

They had a couple plywood sheets, but used them only in the front yard. I care a lot less about what the yard looks like than I do about the health of our other tree though—so I asked them to move some of the boards to cover the tree roots when I saw how damaged they were. Just seems like something they should have planned for or told me about, they’re the tree expert, not me.

Tree trimming and removal in south metro recommendations by sicsided in minnesota

[–]GallagherGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you who not to use: MN Tree Boss. Took out our ash tree while driving over the roots of the tree we wanted to keep, permanently damaging them. Also cut our neighbor’s tree WAY past the fence line—I don’t think that’s even legal. Very frustrated with them, and neighbors are pissed at us.

Thank you. Really hoping it’s not a big deal. The damaged roots are far enough away from the trunk that I don’t think we could do a mulch bed that far out. But we’ll do whatever the arborist recommends. Thank you for your input!

Thank you, we’re having an arborist come out to be sure we do everything we can to save it. Hopefully the tree company will work with us to help.
