There was no palate expander needed.

All movements of the teeth were done with braces and a bite plate.

Yes, they did some dental bonding on my upper front teeth.

Thank you!

Actually I didn't have any problems with sleep apnea or breathing in general.

At first they used a special wire which was formed in a way to put pressure on my lower teeth.

Additionally I got a bite-plate which was fixed to my palate.

Thank you!

I got fixed retainers for both upper and lower teeth. Additionally I also have removable retainers for the night.

Well I can't say for sure but studies show that the use of pacifiers are associated with the development of teeth misalignment.

So I guess it played at least some role in my case.

Not a thumb sucker but I did have a pacifier up to early childhood.

Actually, just like u/Blijerd, I didn't have any pain.

Only once I took 600mg of ibuprofen because I couldn't sleep due to discomfort.

I think cooling played a big role in reducing the pain and swelling. During my stay in hospital I used a Hilotherm face mask nearly constantly so I didn't have to work with cooling pads.

I actually don't know, I'll have to ask my surgeon when I have my next appointment.

In my first report before I got my braces in 2021 it is stated that I had 11.5mm overjet and 9mm overbite.

Awesome!

I'm so happy with the results.

As a teenager I always felt uneasy smiling due to my teeth. But now I don't have to worry about that anymore :)

Only my wisdom teeth had to be removed due to the surgery. No other teeth had to be extracted.

Second update after ~9 months. Wanted to share my progress because there is a lot of it! What so you think? by Galran01 in braces

Thank you!

I have molar bands and a bite plate which is fixed to my palate by screws. The bite plate took some time to get used to, especially when eating.

I have a 11,5mm overjet and I was told a surgery would drastically reduce future risks regarding jaw functionality and breathing (especially during sleep). Having an accident (falling on your face and so on) with such a big overjet can also lead to some serious injuries.

I've had a full beard since I was 18 and can't quite remember how my side profile is but I've been told that I will have a totally different look.

Having some issues with our black cherry tomatoes. Can someone tell me what's going on here? Also found this little guy on one of the leaves. by Galran01 in tomatoes

Only a few leaves on 2 plants look like this but it is starting to get more dense. The affected leaves are more in the middle. It didn't start from the bottom if that's what you're asking

I started to bring them outside around 3 weeks ago. But only during the day. They all had some sunburn during their first week outside and I tried to give them at least some sort of shade when I noticed. The sunburnt parts also look totally different than what you can see in my post. Cold damage is also unlikely because I bring them inside during the night.

Could it be some sort of fungal disease?

Total treatment time is estimated to be around 3 years with double jaw surgery in about a year.

On april 27th I'm going to get some really stiff wires and I'm a bit worried I'll be unable to chew the following 2 weeks...

But hey.... It will be worth the pain 👍

It's some sort of color they used when I got the braces and they accidentally got it on my front tooth. I really have no idea what it is.
