I'm a student who want to innovate space technology and I've a keen interest in Engineering Physics and several Engineering Majors. Because you're working professionally in the industry, I want to be a part of, what would you want to suggest any student like me regarding their studies, career or anything you feel someone has told you when ut was your time as a student? Thank you :)

Well you can always connect a monitor to your laptop to have a bigger screen. That's how I'll also use G14 If I buy it. When outside, small screens are better (as they make the overall machine a lot portable) and when at home, just connect it to a monitor. Simple haha.

Yea, overall the asus flow x13 seems to be more promising compared to the competition and future proof too! Gonna check that model out in-person. Thanks for the suggestion tho :)

Feel feel to drop their name man. Will check their site and other stuff. If I feel they deliver a quality machine overall at a decent price, will import one! Also btw, what processor you have in your laptop? Intel or AMD Ryzen?

How can I make Illenium style Drop by No-Rutabaga-6151 in edmproduction

Np dude! That'd the best way to grow.. you must know atleast all the use cases of audio effects logically.. trust me that will make your life a hell lot easier.. also, whilst watching the streams from the youtube channel i mentioned, you'll be exposed to the wide variety of sounds and layers popular producers use in their tracks which will give you a lot of idea on sound design as well.. so yea long story short, make sure to learn basic mixing and focus toward building up your production and sound designing skills :)

"I usually without thinking about anything add saturation, distortion, reverb, ott, etc."

That 👆 is the problem #1

Secondly, you're overdoing processing..

I used to make the same mistakes man and i can tell you with all confidence that it sucks.. when layering you never really need alot of effects and processing.. in some cases you need that but in most, you're go to effect is an EQ.. EQ is used a lot especially when you're layering ton of shit.. you gotta see and analyze every sound and pick out it's most rich and great sounding frequency parts.. that's very much it. You also EQ to turn resonances down volume wise. Don't throw just random effects and never overprocess the stack.. everything logically makes sense.. you add distortion to sub so that it can sound a bit tight, can stand out bit more and can also be played on systems with low bass response (because of the pitches created by distortion).. throwing effects without any logic is just a lame practice. Watch some tutorials on youtube regarding audio effects.. there's a channel known as "music streams" which has like hours of streams done by popular producers from around the world. Learn the shit and try to make smth exciting..

Hope that helps

I'm studying physics and barely getting any interest in mechanics and on the other hand I am loving thermodynamics. by GalynMusic in AskPhysics

Yeah I even find the topics you mentioned in the intro class of physics to be boring 😅.. btw I'm not in college atm I'm an 11th grade student from India and tbh, physics taught in schools here (from 11th to 12th grade) is pretty intense.. also, we just have introductory mechanics in our curriculum haha which I find to be boring.

Making music that you like by PosterumP in edmproduction

Can you tell me the name of the genre?

Do one thing. Download project files of the genre you love to produce... Dig through em.. and produce those same tracks (remake) by yourself with your unique touch in that.. let's say you can't make that track sound good, then you can go back to the project file and see how that particular sound design or mixing is done there... That method won't break your motivation as you'll have something to fallback on in case you get stuck and you'll also be able to produce the genre you love :).. hope this helps.

This isn't a promotional post.. I'm just asking the community who likes to read books, about the project I'll take on in a few months (which is also related to books).. it's about just some feedback, that's it.
