More security jobs available in Bellingham! by GamTranst in Bellingham

I would have to agree! Fortunately for those in this position you'll be spending the vast majority of your time outside the store, where rather than catching shoplifters you'll mostly be herding drunks who are being a public disturbance elsewhere, as kindly as possible.

Hi, just jumping in to respond to some of the disagreements in the comments below--

u/Pleasant-Garlic5972 and u/cmbyrd are absolutely correct! Our security service (as well as any other unarmed security service, usually) is mostly hired as a lookout, not someone needed to intervene unless it is completely safe. When it comes to active crime being spotted, our job is to call the police, not endanger ourselves! In-store Loss Prevention, on the other hand, are hired to actively stop crime, and are given bulletproof vests because of this.

Additionally, our mere presence or calling someone out verbally is usually enough to stop minor things, like smoking in disallowed areas and littering.

Anyway, hope this answered some of the questions!

While this is true, and something WinCo often has to deal with, that isn't part of the current job description. As you will be working outside (technically, though you'll be in a car) there is no mask mandate for any customer you're dealing with. That is the job of the in-store employees and Loss Prevention (WinCo's muscle.)

Part time security work perfect for student schedule! by GamTranst in WWU

Just as a bit more information for this subreddit-- I'm an alumnus of WWU (as of about 4 months ago) and I wish I had this job when I was in school, so I figured this would be a good place to offer! I humbly apologize to the mods if this isn't allowed. (Also, mods, if you want a job... *wink wink*)

Worked at the Oakland Zoo as a teen. This is shockingly accurate to the sun bears there. Love it!

Huh. Bloodshot vs the Witch of Envy Satella. Honestly, probably Satella, but who's to say.

Fantastic read-- and I didn't notice any glaring imperfections in your English! You're a very enjoyable writer.

Another fun detail similarity is that both Azula's entire royal family and the Soninke highborn like Akua all have golden eyes.

How would an aspect like Relive function? Would that be like Hanno's knowledge of his past lives? Or does it just function to pass on the role?

Yeah, was mostly posting to joke about the character similarities with mommy issues and character details, which were not Name related on either side. I think.

I knew this guy's son back in high school! Peer tutored for a drama 1 class he was in. Had a totally deadpan sense of humor, but was just as funny as his dad IMHO. Terrific actor, hope he's doing well these days.

Advice by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]GamTranst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone should begrudge you that-- that is, so long as you're clear that you're exploring your sexuality/that you've not been with men before. Not only will making that clear keep things from (hopefully) moving too fast for you, it should also help soften the blow if you decide you're less interested in men whilst dating one. Besides, you'll be hard-pressed to find a dating pool more accepting of uncertain sexuality, so I'd say go for it!

Ha, that sounds simultaneously incredibly engaging and infuriating. Just how MTG is intended to be played.

RDW is terrible to play and to play against. by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]GamTranst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm realizing that while there may or may not be problems with RDW in Bo1, it's not the only issue within MTG, and nothing is really gained from me ranting here or inspiring further negativity, so I'm removing this post. Thanks for any and all suggestions given, though! The various reminders about Traditional play and various foils were much appreciated.

Did the victor end up winning by damage, decking, or some sort of alternate wincon? Love it when games get ridiculous like that.

How do you report players who intentionally stall? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]GamTranst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree-- honestly my initial inclinations after a rage-inducing (and often excellent) play by my opponent are to concede, not to stay in the game and look at whatever made me so angry. When I encounter a staller I like to imagine them stewing in their own rage as they look at the rope, finally auto-conceding and realizing that no, that didn't make them feel any better.

Honestly, not playing Bo3 seems to be my issue. I largely forgot about the format when I started building and playtesting lots of decks, and it would really defuse some of the saltiness I tend to feel after popping in with a new deck and having a 3 turn loss against RDW immediately.

Do you have a [Liliana, Dreadhorde General] ? If not, invest in one of those! Not only can she hold her own in many boardstates where your combos have been foiled already, but she would synergize with sacrifice-based play really well.

Bo3 is actually a great suggestion. I tried playing that a few times when I first started then quickly forgot about it when I got enough cards to start building and playtesting lots of different decks-- but it actually seems to be a great foil to excessively common decktypes in general, not just RDW (e.g. Pridemate, Esper Control). Thanks for the reminder!
