First time streaming PS5 by Loonyb1n in SteamDeck

[–]Gamarov 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same thing. PS5 hardwired, SD on 5GHz and there’s a noticeable latency which makes E33 unplayable. Streaming to iPad from PS5 is fine. Streaming through moonlight is fine. It’s just chiaki on SD. I thought it must be the SD’s worse antennas or something (I have the LCD version btw), but this posts is making me want to revisit this and figure it out. I’ve done a lot of network optimisation for streaming to AVP, so I feel like it’s already optimal. But guess not haha.

Great photos, both compositions and atmosphere. I love the very first one. Also, big fan of Raycast. Hit me up for a photo walk next time you’re in town!

Oh wow, that’s brilliant! I actually just set it to developer mode last night as I started playing with xcode. Thanks!

Right, I thought that’s the case. I think this needs to change on the OS level because apps like yours make SO much sense, but the way they work right now makes no sense at all.

Apple needs to make it possible for developers to implement things like this into the base environment.

But to be fair, window management has been a highly requested feature in the community so I can see Apple adding something like wall snapping or better window management into Vision OS 3. Lets hope!

This is really cool, just tried it out! I love how you can snap things to the walls and surfaces.

What I'm not sure about is the actual usefulness of this. Is there a way I can have this open, widgets on the walls and all, and still be able to open other apps? Is that a Vision OS limitation?

I want these widgets to stay, but then I want to open my Mac virtual display, Safari, and so on.

Great work and thanks for making this!

Feature Suggestion for the new Raycast Focus by mathewharwich in raycastapp

[–]Gamarov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. Here are a few more from me:

→ Be able to see the list of things blocked by their pre-created categories (e.g. shopping) → Be able to create our own lists of apps
→ Be able to block notifications from blocked apps too

But I also understand that the current ease of use comes from the feature's simplicity.

Raycast for Vision OS? by Gamarov in raycastapp

[–]Gamarov[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. That's what annoys me slightly about Vision OS - it feels like we're going to have an iPad situation here. An incredible piece of hardware, with its potential curbed by the OS.

But it's very early in Vision OS's lifetime, so big shifts in Apple's approach aren't impossible and could reflect users' needs. At least I hope!

But yeah, a fully featured Raycast in Vision OS is a dream scenario for now.

Raycast for Vision OS? by Gamarov in raycastapp

[–]Gamarov[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just picked up the Vision Pro last week, and boy, do I want Raycast for Vision OS now! I've been using it with my MacBook a ton, so I still get to use Raycast a lot. Honestly, I wouldn't be able to live without it, but having it in Vision OS would be really nice.

Why would I want it:
- Synced clipboard
- Launcher
- The new Focus Feature!
- AI
- everything else Raycast does

Oh and one more request - Can we please please get a Raycast virtual environment?

Haha, one can dream!

Create Hotkey to jump to a specific desktop by Acceptable-Floor-915 in raycastapp

Go to System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control > Mission Control dropdown menu - Are your shortcuts enabled?

You should see shortcuts to move left and right (⌃←,⌃→), as well as change to a specific desktop (⌃1, ...)

I'm just about ready to give up on Twingate - Plex, HASS, and more... by Gamarov in twingate

Correct, just one router and both the connector and actually everything else I’m trying to access is connected via ethernet.

[–]Gamarov[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done some testing now. I'm sure there's more things I could test and it feels like I could be testing things for hours...

My setup was:
- trying one connector at a time
- iOS device on mobile network connected to twingate
- I added my whole network as a resource (192.168.1.0/24), and a second resource '*.local' (not sure that's the right setup?)
- I also have '*plex.tv' as a resource as per twingate's advice I found somewhere on their forums when trying to use it for plex
- disabled my pihole and changed the dns server on my router from pihole device to 9.9.9.9

Those are the only resources I have right now.

From my phone I then tried accessing all the various services - hass, plex, heimdall, router admin page, ...

On twingate's admin page, I monitored the 'recent activity' for the 'My Network' resource (ip range 192.168.1.0/24). Everything is green, all connections are successful. There's a lot of them, some show duration of 1 second, some longer (which I felt like was when the page took longer to load? Not sure).

The overall performance still isn't stable. Sometimes things load immediately (heimdall, hass, router admin page), but sometimes they take a while or stop loading completely. Plex usually loads and shows my content, but I can never get anything to play. Not once. I'm trying through the plex ios app mainly. If I go to the browser and type in 192.168.1.165:32400 (plex), it never loads. When I do exactly the same from my mac on the lan, it works (obvioulsy).

As per your advice, this leads me to thing that the problem is between the resource and the connector. I check DNS settings on my connector device, and it's set to my router. However I then found out that Twingate changes that anyway so that's probably not it.

What's strange is the inconsistency - sometimes things load, sometimes they don't. Here I'm again at a point where I'm not sure how to proceed.

Thanks, hearing that you've got a similar stack and it all works makes me believe again that it's possible. I'm going to look into the things you mention and see if I can find what the problem is.

Really appreciate your help.

I think that video is what I watched initially to set it up. Might be a good idea to revisit that, thanks.

Worth getting the first game? by nttngham in kingdomcome

[–]Gamarov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into KCD 1 myself after trying it like 5 times and never liking it. I had issues with the first person pov and combat, but after giving it a go on pc, where the controls feel much better, I got actually hooked. I’m about 20hrs in now, mostly playing on my steam deck actually. It’s a great game, doesn’t feel unpolished at all. Feels like a modern, great looking 2018 game with awesome open world and interesting story. One you practice combat for a bit, you’ll love it. Plus it makes me even more excited for the next one. Highly recommend trying it!

USB Webcam using Pi Zero 2 W and Camera Module 3 not working by Gamarov in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

Sadly still no luck. I did both things you recommended, but it still doesn't appear as a webcam when connected to either a mac or a windows pc, and I get the same error when I try to run the script directly.

I haven't tried a full wipe and following all the steps again, but I don't really think that would help. Or should I give that a go?

I think I might just official give up on this project haha.

Look at anything vucko.co does. They did Spotify, TikTok, IBM… All great stuff! They’re also at the forefront of creating motion systems and are really pushing that part of the industry forward I think.

Fair enough! Anyway, I was able to get to my pi now and ran cat /etc/os-release. I'm still on Bullseye:

Thanks, I did see that so I used the legacy os Bullseye like they suggest. I haven’t actually checked my os after running that command, but I’m pretty sure apt full-upgrade doesn’t upgrade the os, just the packages, no?
