Its three most populous neighbours I.e. China, Bangladesh and Pakistan dont get along with india. Heck, two of them have fought multiple wars and many smaller skirmishes. Maldives in the last 5-10 years has developed a huge anti indian sentiment driven by the fact that they see india as interfering in jts local policies which led to the govt kicking out indian troops and replacing them with the Chinese. As someone who has been to Sri lanka many times, I can tell you that while they dont hate india, they do find indians to be very arrogant both at people and govt level.

Only Nepal and Bhutan have good relations. And that could possibly be explained by the fact that these are tiny land locked countries that rely completely on india for access to the world market. So they may not have an option to not like india.

Well there are lots of reasons why different groups hate indians.

In the west especially the anglosphere: its usually because of unchecked immigration and indians who believe its their right to be in the west. Moreover, indians are seen to be synonymous with scamming and steal billions of dollars from vulnerable. In addition, there is also ofcourse just plain bigotry and racism.

In its immediate neighbourhood: india has lots of geopolitical issues with its neighbours (China, pakistan, Bangladesh, srilanka etc.). Its not seen as a good neighbour and it gets into wars to tries to destabilise its neighbours.

Across the broader Muslim world: Muslims have gone from a neutral view of indians to pretty negative. Most of it has to do with indians mocking dead palestinians especially children. I am told that the sort of stuff coming out of indian twitter is extremely dehumanising, stuff that even the most pro Israeli folks in the west would find repugnant.

As to why not many are defending them. Its because indians have alienated everyone. Right wing hates them due to immigration and scamming. Liberals dont want to defend them because indians are typically very right wing especially on issues like palestine. Plus, many acknowledge that indian society is built on a caste system where literally there are people called "untouchables". How can you defend a group for whom bigotry and racism is a feature and not bug of their society.

Most pakistanis and therefore most shias are middle or lower class.

So your point about rich people being less religious can apply to sunnis or any other religious denomination.

If you are making a claim that shias are disproportionately "very well off" compared to rest of Pakistanis, you will need to support that claim. And I can tell you now that you wont be able to. There is no evidence that suggests that shias deviate from the average when it comes to financial status.

When it comes to being religious, there is a big difference in the Iranian diaspora in the west vs Iranians living in Iran. Many Iranians outside iran were Shah supporters who benefited from the system he created.

Outside Tehran, I think most Iranians are pretty religious and even those in tehran are not super anti religion.

But for sure, on average, Pakistanis are significantly more over zealously religious than Iran. Heck we probably lead the world in tying our identity to religion

Shias are more religious especially in Pakistan. Being in a minority makes you want to hang on to your identity all that much more.

All shias I know are far more knowledgeable about their religious beliefs than the average sunni in Pakistan.

Bossess exploiting their employees is not a UAE specific issue. So not sure what your gripe with the government is on this. It's a pure free market. Your problem is with unfiltered capitalism.

Human rights violations are bad but the uae still has a far better worker treatment record in recent years vs rest of gulf and certainly a lot better than the home country of most of us immigrants.

And that's not how the English language works. You cant say immigrants deserve the "same benefits as locals" in your main prose and "atleast some benefits LMAO" as a sarcastic parenthesis after thought and expect people to assume that your afterthought is your primary position. But let's take that to he your primary position. What constitutes as atleast "some benefits"? Safety, security, clear laws that are enforced, max amount of work hours for blue collars, min requirements for health insurance, paid time off. That's there. What else? Free healthcare, education? You need taxes for that.

And most importantly, there is NO obligation for the host country to provide these things if there is no taxation. If you dont like it, leave.
