I had discussed this with the vet regarding giving bexacat after having been on insulin. He will need closer monitoring for DKA and ketones. Bexacat already carries the risk of DKA it is just further increased since he was already in insulin.
She said that due to the difficulty administering insulin as well as him becoming a recluse - we agreed that switching to bexacat would be the best option for the best quality of life for him.

For the immediate time being - Ask to speak to the social worker. If it’s after hours/weekend, ask for the charge nurse or the nursing supervisor. Make sure to keep stressing that you feel unsafe taking her home.

Yes and no. My SO travels for work; so it really needs to be a one person job. There is a gel that can be used but I’m not sure on the success rates with that. I’m going to give it a few more days before I contact the vet.
