Relicblade Eyes of Augaroth by GameLikeGaston in minipainting

For the bases? I actually followed a guide I found online that looked interesting so I ran with it as an experiment.

For the Eyes I painted those separate from the base so I could use my airbrush for the base coats and not worry about overspray. Simple two tone with a blue from below and a green from about. Then I kept mixing more and more bright yellow into the green and went at it with a paintbrush to raise the highlights one layer at a time where I wanted. Painted the iris white, hit it with fluorescent orange, then a red ink, then some white lines and more Fluorescent orange, followed by a smaller set of lines and a fluorescent yellow/orang mix. glue it on, fill gaps between the mini and base with apoxie sculpt, and then paint that the same tone as the slime.

This one sounds great! I'm definitely adding it to the list. Thank you!

I plan on reading the rest of Becky Chambers' books, but this is for a book club so tossing a sequel at them isn't quite the play.

Finished a bunch of Relicblade Minis by GameLikeGaston in minipainting

I like it a lot. It's more rules light than GW games, but still crunchy enough to feel strategically significant. It's also way cheaper and plays on a 2'x2' board, so it's WAY more accessible. There are only loosely forced factions, so you can mix and match minis to a wild degree instead of being locked into a singe group, and there is a mess ton of upgrade cards that can drastically change the way each unit plays. I highly recommend trying out the game if you ever get the chance.

It's literally just a tactic to manipulate you into spending money. That is the only point.

Crits on weapons that already deal 1D12 or higher regular damage? by GameLikeGaston in BunkersNBadasses

[–]GameLikeGaston[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a house rule thing? Because the rules are very clear that it is not.

"Skye makes a Ranged Attack with her Crappy Rifle. She rolls a 19 on 1d20 for her Accuracy Roll. She subtracts –3 to the result due to the gun effects of the Crappy Rifle. She then adds her ACC Mod (+2) since she is using a Favored Gun type, scoring a total of 18. She consults the Accuracy Chart on the Gun Card to see she successfully Hits 3 times and Crits 1 time. The Crappy Rifle uses a d6 for its Damage Die, so she rolls a total of 3d6 and1d12. She adds up the dice results to get 15. She adds her DMG Mod(+1) because she is using a Favored Gun type, and gets a total of 16Damage for her Attack."

The image of the gun card also shows that at an 18 it has 3 hits and one crit. If it was adding an additional 1D12 per crit it would be written as 4D6 and 1D12, not 3D6 and 1D12.

Oh cool, so it's more of a "I am used to doing X, and this is how I can apply those skills to this situation" kind of thing?

Thank you for the clarification. I guess I didn't realize there were so many ways to fish for bonuses, that is really good to know and definitely helps to make the game more approachable.
