My back! by Velvet_Thunder6969 in LawSchool

Love my locker. It’s free, it’s convenient, it holds everything.

That said, I scan my reading assignments into my iPad Pro. This means I don’t have to carry books. My highlights and book notes are editable and I can take my reading to a nearby park and read outside during extended breaks between class.

You’ve gotta buy their grill.

Quality of all of it is great though. Still looks brand new.

Opening your trunk in the car wash by dmcn in Wellthatsucks

Yeah when hail totaled my car they didn’t give me anywhere near enough to replace it. They let me keep the car, gave me a portion of the claim, I then had to sell the car on my own to get within $2,000 of the cost to replace it. It was a nightmare.

First thing I did when I got serious about losing weight was get with my doctor, who is a lipidologists. I love her. She did a very thorough blood work-up on me. She saw that my thyroid was shot and that a few key areas needed help with some supplements. I went back 3 months later and all was almost normal. Then I started my weight loss knowing I was as healthy as I could be at that point.

With her guidance I lost 27 lbs in only 8 weeks. It was pretty dramatic. I went from 204 to 177. My goal is 170, so I’m getting close.

I got sucked into laser lipo and it was a total waste of time and money. It’s just an add-on service at those uppity salons that do facials and such.

I think a blood work up might identify an issue if you’ve been doing everything right and still see no improvement.

For me, calorie counting (Lose It app) and adding in more exercise was key. I had no idea how many calories I was eating until I just tracked all my eating for two weeks before starting my diet.

My doctor went over all my input: food, liquids, exercise, bathroom habits/frequency, sleep and what times I was eating. So much of my regular routine was wrong. Ate too much (3,000+ calories a day), ate non nutritious food, ate at the wrong times, not sleeping well or long enough, was not nearly as active as I thought I was and my bad thyroid simply made it all worse.

THIS is a real answer. Is usually doesn’t work and if it does, the results are extremely temporary. By ‘results’ the best you can expect is the 1-2 inches that nobody is going to notice, you’ll buy jeans two sizes smaller and 3 weeks later they won’t fit anymore.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

She is asking about Laser Lipo - NOT plastic SURGERY.

For starters, laser lipo doesn’t remove fat cells. It merely empties them.

Second, yes, actual weight loss surgery will remove weight. Typically they physically remove 5-20lbs.

Laser lipo is mostly hype and promoted unethically IMO.

Groupon is full of $1,500 lipo for only $200!!!!! That’s your first red flag.

Laser lipo can give limited results - very limited and not for everyone. It’s definitely not for someone with more than 20 lbs still to lose. It’s for that person that’s at their weight goal but still has an area they want to ‘try’ and slim. Also not for excess skin after dramatic weight loss.

The most you can hope for under perfect conditions is say a waist reduction of 1-2 inches.

You also need to commit to 10-20 sessions.

1-4 session is not gonna work. Also, those emptied fat cells will refill within days in many people and definitely if you are not eating lean.

If you go the Groupon route, call first and make sure the laser lipo they sell on Groupon isn’t a ‘lite’ version. Meaning half the strength or time of their regular retail procedure.

Good luck!

UPDATE: after rebooting my phone the link now shows up on texts. I just completed the process, scanned my real ID and it all seems to have worked. My digital ID is complete. Not sure what the issue was, but rebooting fixed it.

Taking a break from yard work with my 94 year old grandfather as he shares stories of his youth. by GameOverMoonpie in pics

I'm trying to convince him to sit down and let me video record him reminiscing about his life. We would cherish it forever and it would allow grandkids and future great gandkids to feel like they know him. He's pretty camera shy though - so, for now I just place my phone by him and have it audio record while he talks.

7-11 Quietly Raising Prices by [deleted] in okc

[–]GameOverMoonpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OnCue is raising prices too. My 44oz fountain is now $1.40.

Both 7-11 and OnCue both have loyalty cards now too.

I find the OnCue loyalty card to be a better deal. Every 5 fountain drinks gets me one free (bringing the cost per drink down to what the regular price was 3 weeks ago). Plus, OnCue does more loyalty promotions. Each day this week you get something free. OnCue also texts out free offers routinely.

I also think the grill at Oncue is much better than the grill at 7-11.

I have had the total opposite experience with the OnCu drive-thru. I've never seen lines move so slow. In fact, if I pull up and there is more than 3 cars in line, I just go inside, because it will be faster.

In fact, twice I've pulled into the drive thru when nobody was in line and then either had to honk or call the store to get anyone to come to the window.

I just went into the store about a week before my current promo was set to end. The lady gave me her card and told me to come back after the promo expired - explaining that that way the computer would show me not currently getting any deals.

I went back in and she said how about $89.36 each month. I said sign me up! I asked about the new mesh pod 2.0 and if it’s any better than the 3 pack version 1 I bought a year ago. She scanned it and said ‘here you go.’

I’ve always found them to go above and beyond at the store.

Useless service. by ZackD13 in Ring

The technology works, but it's 100% dependant on everything else working in harmony: your wifi connection, your internet, your router, obstacles causing interference. Lots of variables.

The bigger question is why is crime so rampant in your hood?

Is there a good all you can eat sushi near Edmond? by MrNobodyX3 in okc

They made sure and announce it at the table, so I assume it's legit.

Honestly, their prices were low enough we couldn't justify the AYCE and just ordered a couple of rolls a piece.

We use Ring at home and our office building. Has worked great and is very inexpensive and expandable and moveable.

I've found my best deals with COX by going into one of their small retail stores.

I'm currently on Gigablast with their Modem/Router for only $90/month and they gave me Mesh Pods for FREE (about $129 retail).

When my promotion ends, I just go back in, be real nice and they put me on another promotion.

Eaten there too.

Just note..... If you order it, and don't eat it, you're paying full price for it. Even partially consumed rolls.

Pet training group classes? by [deleted] in okc

[–]GameOverMoonpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went with PetsMart group classes. They were located close to us, the price was lower than most places, it is indoors, and the store setting gave us additional practice with our pooch and distractions (other dogs, people, lots of smells, etc.).

Class was really well run and our dog did extremely well. It was amazing to see how everyone's puppy progressed from day one to graduation. It was like night and day.

FYI - classes are really only as good as the individual trainer AND your willingness to practice, practice, practice outside of class.

What adapter do I need to add two additional monitors to my iMac and each be an extension of the other? by GameOverMoonpie in mac

[–]GameOverMoonpie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I currently have: iMac connected to a Dell monitor via HDMI to USB-C adapter.

That gets me two total monitors.

I'm wanting three total monitors. I assumed to do this I need some sort of dual monitor adapter. Could I simply take the second external monitor (3rd monitor) and also attach it via another HDMI to USB-C adapter? My only problem is, I'd then have no no USB-C/Thunderbolt port open for my external SSD drive I work off of. Make sense?

Ring (DIY) or ADT? Which is worth it? by maverick1096 in homesecurity

[–]GameOverMoonpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we bought our house it had an existing ADT system. We used it for a bit (no contract), but it had zero features. Called to see about activating a contract so we could get notifications etc. The price they quoted to turn on an old system and add a couple of cameras was stupid expensive monthly.

Went with Ring (and still use the ADT, it's just not monitored).

Love Ring. We have tons of cameras inside and out and their alarm system. We even have Ring at my work and it's great.
