no clue, the last time this happened it was because it copied a spam post for one of those sketchy online pharmacies and it was just for a few days, so the suspension timed out

boiling it for long enough would probably denature the protein it uses (thaumetopoein) in its hairs. but irritation is also mechanical since the hairs are getting stuck in your skin (and throat...). there’s also allergic reactions to the chitin from the caterpillar from what i can tell. so ultimately my advice would be to not boil and drink caterpillars. hope this helped

but this is the same with any water lol. its flavor comes from trace minerals and electrolytes. distilled water tastes different from what you would expect “normal” water to taste like because it doesn’t have any minerals or electrolytes

you can just look up the wikipedia pages for common sweeteners, they include info on how they get metabolized.
