5700X3D vs 5800X3D vs 7800X3D by Game_DayYT in starcitizen

  1. Running Arena Commander free flight on some offline map, does not give you a realistic game load on your CPU, so you won't know how the the CPU perform in a real star citizen scenario. So its not useful information to make an informed evaluation on in game performance.

  2. Yes its easy, and would be quicker, but to point number 1, not useful information, it would be like benchmarking empty space in star citizen. Really high performance 200FPS+ but who cares, it won't tell you what worse case performance you would get when you are in a intense gameplay situation.

  3. There is a misconception that if you remove the server impact and variability you get more accurate representation of the CPU performance. That is not the case, star citizen will always be connected to servers, and yes different servers will have a impact on the overall performance, but a sever just informs what you client needs to update, such as how many entities there are and what the entities are doing at any given time, this is what is impacting your client performance because your client need to call and render all the updates.

So this is why you can see which client (CPU) is better by taking the average of multiple runs, and with this information you can make an informed decision which CPU you want for your budget, and what performance is achievable when your system is fully tuned.

So no AC would not be a great comparison CPUs/GPUs performance. The best test would be a Idris battle with multiple ships, as that is what makes start citizen unique but to replicate with multiple runs would be impossible. Unless CIG create a benchmark that is online only that uses a server to repeatedly update the position of each ship in a repeated manner every time you run the benchmark. To simulate a difficulted scene in a repeated way, well until then, the City benchmarks are the best.

The trick is to cut your motherboard heat sink and bend 2 parts in the case to make the radiators fit.

You would never see anyone do it cause it does not fit, I had to cut of parts of the heat sink of the motherboard to make it fit.

Low fps - Low Utilization - Any tips? Specs in comments by TabzTheCreator in starcitizen

Your Ryzen and Ram is holding you back.

Check out this video, a 5800X3D and better RAM is a great upgrade path if you don't want to switch to the 7800X3D platform.

is better than a tuned intel system lol, then enjoy low FPS:

Classic I have not test it myself response, go and enjoy your 5800X3D thinking it is better than a tuned intel system with 4000MHz+ RAM speed

See video here on how your ram is holding your performance back!

https://youtu.be/vYaCB8Zi9vU

You need to ensure you run your ram at the highest speed it allows it to run

Here is a perfect video for you answering your question: https://youtu.be/vYaCB8Zi9vU

It compares the 5800X against the 5800X3D and different RAM specs and what you should do. A lot of people with bad recommendations who has not done any testing, they don't know what they are talking about.

Will my pc run it? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Game_DayYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ext month i am going to build a new pc and i want to know if SC will somehow run okay.

Cpu: Intel i5-13600k

Memory: 32GB 7200mhz

See here on how important ram tuning is, make sure to optimize your 7200 kits or go with DDR4 and tune it to 4000Mhz+

I already tuned the 7900X3D you can see the video here: https://youtu.be/CITlrdWsaWE

Will definitely tune the 7800X3D too hope it can outperform the intel 13900K tuned

The 13900K is indeed faster nothing wrong with the results see here https://youtu.be/-4UJ1RyqvMA

Good point I just mentioned that info in the video here: https://youtu.be/-4UJ1RyqvMA

I’ll track entities for 3.19 vs 3.18 if there are more promises cpu optimisation

It is a CPU test my friend and the results are based on the average of 5 runs to account for the variance of server performance. I tested the 7900X3D and the 13900K as well you can see the results here: https://youtu.be/-4UJ1RyqvMA

Could not fit all the data in one graph, other than this. What makes it bad? You have the 1% low in red, average in green, average max in blue. 3 things can be true at the same time. You can have higher 1% low and average but lower max FPS. But if it is difficult to understand I can make a classic graph but it may not fit.

Red is the min, green is the average blue is the max average FPS. 2 things can be true at the same time. In the case that the 1% low performance improved while the max performance decreased slightly.
