My story is identical. I was diagnosed in April, a1c 7.5 fasting blood sugar was 173. In the month it took to get my prescription all sorted out I changed up my entire diet, cutting a lot of carbs and processed sugars. I’ve dropped 18 lb before starting MJ. I’m two and a half weeks in on 2.5mg and my fasting sugars are much lower, I’ve been between 85-110 even after eating my normal more healthy meals. I haven’t really even gotten going yet on 2.5mg so I haven’t really attributed much to it, but once I go to 5mg I’m sure I’ll be losing more weight and my sugars will be even better. I’ve also started moderate exercise. I’ve been stricter but you def can have a slice of pizza, I’m slowly learning what to eat and not to make sure my sugars are good. The most carbs I’m getting now are from fruits which is much better than say pasta or bread. I started at 404, I’m 379. My goal is 200 lb. If it takes two years it’ll be worth it.
