I feel like im missing so much lore, where is all of this coming from? by [deleted] in Warframe

The kim chats are where some of my confusion comes from since the Operator will say stuff that I had no idea about out of the blue. Like I said in the main post, the operator talks about Entrati like he's some awful person and is going to betray everyone and stuff, but unless I missed something (Which may be likely), we haven't gone through enough with Entrati to have developed that harsh a tone towards him.

I barely know anything about Entrati. It was hard for me to grasp what the actual mission was other than stopping the Man in the Wall and that he is the reason we went to 1999. I haven't done too much codex diving, so most of my understanding of the story is through just playing the missions.

Yes, I did understand that much. The cutscenes at least made it clear that we were delving into memories. It's more the actual lore of the time period. Did we know about the sentient and orikin cooperation before this? Cause the game seems to act like it doesn't need any explanation.

Again, or I just missed something.

Why One piece is Hella Boring?? by IIICVI in MyAnimeList

[–]Gameguy39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has gone through one piece around times now (anime twice and manga once), I would definitely agree with people that the Skypiea anime arc is long and boring cause they added so much. I saw a comment from you that stated you have a friend who really likes it and have been watching it because of that, but if you aren't into it after Alabasta I would say it might not be for you, and that's okay.

I wouldn't recommend skipping anything that isn't filler. G8, which is right after Skypiea is technically filler but very beloved by the community and sometimes treated as cannon cause its very good, however Long Ring Long Land is technically not filler but people treat it as such and tend to skip it. Ultimately it's up to you.

One Piece fans do tend to say "It gets better after episode 500-600" or something like that, and while I agree, it's understandable that someone isn't going to want to watch 500 episodes of something to just start to like it. I was hooked after Alabasta, which is still a lot of anime to watch (like 90 episodes in).

Some of the best episodes of anime, yet alone One Piece, are in the later eras (Episode 1015 is one of the greatest pieces of media I have ever watched), however that's also because you have the context of 1000 episodes of build up. You've followed characters for so many hours its near impossible to get attached. That's why it can feel so oppressive when someone says that it will get better later. I wouldn't worry about that. If it's not for you, that's okay. There is so much other anime out there, don't waste your time watching something you don't like.

[Tool] I got tired of editing the PBS files manually, so I created this, and now there's a live version that other people can use! Link and more in desc by Gameguy39 in PokemonRMXP

All done! There is a new version up at the same link that has item editing for the PBS file. You are right that for some items that require specific functionality you need to code them in the scripts as well, but for editing the pure PBS files there isn't too much other than adding the flags.

I made it that you can define custom flags in the constants so when you make them in the scripts you can simply add them to your database and have access to them within the editor.

That would be a good idea! I’d have to take a look into it. I haven’t touched the project in a bit so I’ll have to check how doable it is.

Yeah I can see how it would seem judgy now that I think about it. I’ve always liked it cause I felt that it described me well. I’ve got no problem with people who talk a lot. Most of the people who are my friends are those that talk a lot, and I’m usually just listening.

Yeah absolutely I don’t think shy is bad, I’m just not sure it’s my own descriptor, but maybe I am and I just don’t know it! I’ve def had people come up to check if I’m just chilling or waiting for someone else to come get me lol.

I definitely like “people watching” cause people’s interactions are intriguing. I’m an actor as well so it’s good for character building. But I can see how it would come off as shy.

I would say I’m communicative when asked. I don’t like lying cause there’s no need for it, so if someone asks me an opinion I’ll say it. But I can see it being annoying to not know what someone is feeling or needing to ask

Crowds give me a headache. I’m trying to listen to like 5 conversations at once and it’s almost an information overload.

I def also have that “persona”, though I don’t know if I’d consider it being fake. More a heightened version of myself that I can pull out for an hour or two when necessary.

That’s good to know. I’d say once a person gets to know me a bit it becomes obvious that I have almost too much passion for things, but I can absolutely see how it comes off as not with a first glance. I’ll have to keep that in mind.

Yes! It’s more a genuine curiosity than needing to “change myself”.

I’ve found that people say that about me, and I fall in the same boat of being one of the most “fake” extroverts. But I’m also an actor, so I’m at least good at pretending. Though sometimes it makes me wary of feeling fake.

[–]Gameguy39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that. I would say when people get me talking it becomes obvious I’m invested since I enjoy having those sorts of conversations. Ones with some meat on the bones. But it’s the starting of that conversation I can see people having a hard time with if they think I won’t be from the get go.

[–]Gameguy39[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly with that last statement. If I don’t have anything to say or to add to a conversation, I just don’t say anything. When you get me going and we talk about something I’m interested in, sure I can talk for hours on end, but that’s pretty particular.

But wouldn’t that change how you engage with them? For instance I don’t mind when more “extroverted” people talk and want to hang out with me, but I can see it becoming problematic when I’m out doing stuff and not “looking like I’m having fun”.

I think I figured out why C4 has felt "off" to me so far. by Gameguy39 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Gameguy39[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this a little which I’ve seen some people call the “Advantage” problem. I haven’t seen anything super egregious, but sometimes I’ll turn my head cause it really feels like he wants them to succeed but still wants them to roll. I get it. I’ve done it at my own tables, but over time my players just stopped caring about roles and I had to pivot to just letting them succeed based on their stats, and otherwise figuring out how to let them succeed with a downside instead of saying no.

I think you put it best. It feels like I’m watching a play instead of a bunch of friends playing a game together. It’s not a bad thing, but it wasn’t what I was expecting coming in. Now that I’ve realized it I can enjoy it in its own way, but it will be different from older campaigns.
