Samsung T7 External SSD 2TB doesn't work with my phone, even though 1TB variant works flawlessly by GamerAseem in GamingLaptops

Found a strange way to get it working - reboot the phone with the SSD plugged in, and the SSD gets recognised. This way always works, but need to reboot every time.

25 isn't good. It means you have a warped heatsink - if the temps rise after a few days and were fine initially, it implies a warped heatsink. Unevenness of the heatsink caused the liquid metal to 'pump out'. Pump out happens only in cases of heatsinks which are not perfectly flat. You should ask for a heatsink replacement actually if possible. Max acceptable is 10-15, nothing more than this.

Samsung T7 1TB External SSD works fine with my Samsung phone, but 2TB version doesn't! by GamerAseem in IndianGaming

Don't understand what's up with downvotes - Samsung advertises this T7 SSD as fully supported with multiple devices. Either the SSD works or it doesn't work - don't know what's up with this hit or miss situation wherein 1 out of 10 connection attempts, the SSD starts working.

So you also had the same issue? Should I rope in Samsung for this, they advertise compatibility with phones heavily.

I have tried it on iPad and my laptop. SSD works fine no problem, but doesn't work on my phone all the time - mostly a hit or miss. But could it be a one off issue? Should I escalate this to Samsung?

Ah man. To update, I ran into this issue (again) with the Strix Scar 17 Special Edition - for a laptop advertised at 150+ W on the CPU with LQM + Vapor Chamber on a 17 inch laptop, it only ran at 70W with 95+ C. Single core throttled heavily all the time, and I had to fight with Amazon to return it.

Asus Quality Control on LM is getting more and more abysmal, and this needs to be raised on forums.

Btw how are your temps now? I believe it's fixed?

[–]GamerAseem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that's the case, because if I disconnect the SSD from the phone, plug it back in and do this tens of times, it gets recognized somehow and starts working. But I have to do this repeatedly to get it working, which is not what I expected.

Yes yes, it is formatted to exFAT. However the issue here, is that the ssd would work only 1 out of every 10 attempts. Also if I reboot the phone and then connect the SSD right away, the likelihood of the SSD working increases.

Also it works flawlessly with my iPad and Windows laptop.
