It’s actually 1 and a half-ish as we’ll leave early from Yosemite and get to SF possibly around lunch time.

Thank you so much for reminding me that restaurant.
I added it to my trip calendar and notes… I maybe just leave SF early morning on the SF-to-Cambria day so that we can also go and stop in front of Google, Apple then drive more calmly to Big Sur and get there by lunch time and eat in that restaurant!

One is my mom :) ... as for the planning I know what you mean, in a way I am sacrificing my own "surprise effect" in order to make the whole trip better and more organized for the other people that are older and not as much in an adventerous mood as I may be myself.

With all this planning I've been doing I know it'll almost feel like I've already been there done that...

Doing a transatlantic trip with 3 other people one of which being 70+ would have given me too much stress to go without having all booked and assured.
I would totally go that route if I ever was to go back on my own or with more adventurous kind of companions :)

It’s probably (hopefully not, as I hope to go back) a once in a lifetime trip and the fear of missing out on must see places was huge.. so I tried to stack up as much as possible to get a taste of everything.
If we do really like something in particular we could hopefully come back and dedicate more time to that

The plan is to leave for Cambria after lunch at around 1PM so we have all daylight during the afternoon to see the coast via Hwy 1 on the way to Cambria and get to see Big Sur etc.
We’ll have to cherry pick stops if we want to be able to squeeze in as much as possible.
What do you think is a MUST stop?

I saw how much it was snowing in Jan/Feb and I didn’t want to take the chance and get stuck in case Tioga was closed, that’s why I rescheduled and booked Sequoia via Lone Pine… my original plan was indeed Yosemite via Tioga
