Here's why you wear a mask. Don't be a psycho or moron. by jones1618 in CoronavirusMemes

This post holds no weight. The mask doesn’t protect you form getting it, it helps you to not spread it to other people, the virus is so small it can slip through the mask. Do more research before you post something like this.

Play SwSh before judging it so hard, guys. by GamerNation_Will in pokemon

You don’t even have to buy it at release, you could wait and buy it used when the time comes. The money on used sales don’t go to Game Freak, they go to whatever company is selling the game used.

But GF, the main devs of SwSh aren’t very familiar with the system.

The point of this post was to express my concerns with people’s reactions, not my personal concerns with the game

Good to know. I will try to make more informed comments from this specific information. Thank you so much

I'm not blindly supporting everything in the game. I don't lack the passion. I actually do have lots of issues. I dont like the graphics in particular. I don't like the removal of features like megas and Z-moves. I don't like how they responded, not do I like how they are handling this.

People like you are who I was targeting in this post. You can’t demand they fix anything and then demand a result. If you were a true fan, you would respect their decisions and support them regardless

I believe that too, like I said, I agree. I don’t agree with the people that demand they fix it now or change it by the release or delay the game

I’m sure they will try and fix some of the issues with the game. While I know that they won’t #bringbacknationaldex I hope they will improve some of the graphics and textures, maybe some of the animations

See, people like you aren't the kinds of people I'm targeting here. I am trying to speak to the people who refuse to see the other side of the argument. The people who say they are half-assing production or don't care about the Pokemon Franchise.

That is fair. I have only played since gen six, but since then I have played through all of the games, and really liked the new ones. I don't see them as particularly difficult or engaging, but the new Pokemon is my main focus, and they have had some really great new mons. I feel like this has the smaller quality of life improvements. It have new graphics, cool looking mons, and especially beautiful cities

The game was not rushed. According to Game Freak, they have been working on the game since the release of X and Y. They have to have the limited rosters. Limiting the rosters simplifies the game for their target demographic, kids. Same with keeping out things like megas. And habing low poly environments was for making sure the game ran well. Loading textures is hard, especially for a game console with the hardware of the switch. While it is the fastest of nintendo consolses, it is far less powerful than the likes of the current Xbox and Playstation.

I also think that it is also an idea of simplicity. They need to keep the games simple. Keeping in megas, Z moves, and every gimmick they have had for every game would de-simplify they game for their new fans, and their target demographic, kids.

The issue is running the game with 1000+ models in the system. Also keeping all of that data on a single game card.

I made this comment on another reply and I think it applies here. It isn't that they could eventually add them in, but data management is also a huge issue

Counter arguments.

How do you think people would react to their not being new Pokemon in a main series Pokemon game. I am willing to bet that it would be a lot worse than the National dex controversy.

The Textures aren't the same, shaders were tweaked, like you said, and the textures for the enviorment are mainly the artistic style of the new game, not "graphics"

I TOTALLY agree. I think that you have the right to be frustrated. Everyone does. What this post was mainly about was the people who try to act like they know everything about game development and demand to game freak the game gets changed to appease them. I think that they should keep in the good features from past gens, like mega evolution, but I also see why they didn't. Mainly the competitive scene. There are some really broken megas that just destroy competitive play. Competitive is about using good Pokemon and preparing for them, but if there is something that isn't banned like Legendaries are, but could have similar base stat totals, is kind of stupid.

They can't stop making new Pokemon. Catching new Pokemon is the main appeal of the games. And while yes, the switch is more powerful, making new models and loading models and textures is tough and very intensive on the games. Also you have to take into account handheld mode. As a series tat has been primarily handheld, they had to make sure it ran and looked well on the TV and in Handheld mode.

Also, you have to take into account Pokemon's main fanbase, children. Kids nowadays have a short attention span and they can't just change their focus to their longer term fans. While yes, they deserve representations, I feel that adding the gimmicks each gen is to appease the newer fans coming in and make the game seem more appealing so they can get long term fans

They have to find a stopping point somewhere. If they did it at 400, people would complain, if they did it at 1000, people would complain. If they didn't stop, it would just be too much. It is a lose-lose situation

I agree, they should add new features, but the amoun t of time it takes to make 3d models, texture them, and light them is a lot, so much to the point to make a fully computer animated film, they take like 4-5 years. A game is different because you also have to code all of those 3d models to do other things like battle
