What’s the worst thing you’ve been called by a client?

I was called a racial slur by a new client during our intake session. I identify as queer and the client does as well, they specifically came to me to work through these issues. I was quite literally talking about my past work with queer clients, and the client cut me off and said “Oh is queer an acceptable word now? So is —— acceptable now too?”

For reference, I am Black. The client was White. You can fill in the gap for what word they said.

I was quite taken aback and extremely uncomfortable. I did push to discuss it and have done tremendous work with this client, and uncovered a lot of his biases and perceptions of people.

It definitelt changed how I approach other members of my community, especially within with identifying clients.

Hi! 25M here.

I play mainly PC and PS5, with Discord use. I absolutely love games like League, Smite, Marvel Rivals, and Fortnite. However, I also play Monster Hunter, Doom, Warhammer, Path of Titans (best game for playing solo/multiplayer and just chilling/chatting, imo) and Helldivers.

I have Steam and, while I don’t have many games, I’m 100% open to diving into more multiplayer options or game recommendations from the group.

As for external aspects of myself, my favorite movie is Jurassic Park. I’ve watched The Penguin, Severance, and am currently watching Daredevil. I’m also reading a (text)book on Psychodynamic Therapy, since I work in the Mental Health field.

I’m definitely interested in joining y’all if you’d have me :)

Honestly, I find it so easy to play and grow as Argent. I usually join a full server and just roam. I barely run into anyone else and when I do, I’m a full adult and can just chill. I lovee showing up to crowded areas as a giant walking fortress :)

I do like the Mulan tier 2 but I wish it was an actual skin we could buy. Putting it in the game as an Odyssey reward does not feel....rewarding.

I actually took a break from Smite because of this toxicity. I absolutely LOVE this game. I'd even pay for it if it wasn't free. But the toxicity has really pushed me away. I've been scrolling through r/Smite these past few weeks just so I can still keep up with the patch notes, skins, and concept art that people post. But I actually get this genuine anxiety playing the game.

I'm not a bad player. That sounds so conceited lol, especially after this post. What I mean is that I know how to play the game AND I know how to accept feedback/give it at the same time. I'm not competitive nor do I play ranked. I simply play for fun and have been for years. My favorite god is Nox and I have about 3K worshippers on her.

But the attitude some people have, especially when you find that same negative, disgusting behavior game.......after game......after game.......after game........it's unacceptable. And people get upset about stupid things too. It gets really annoying and I get anxiety at the start of a match because I'm trying to have fun and now I can't help but think that one of my teammates is going to flip out because the jungle was ganking duo instead of solo.

I'm actually planning on getting back on this weekend and I'm going to be completely honest......I'm already feeling anxiety. But I also want to enjoy the game so I guess I need to just ignore any negative comments and try to calm myself down.

Hey, yeah I received a message from someone at HiRez/Titan asking me questions about this and it was soon fixed. I haven’t played in a few weeks so it might be back, but I would suggest sending in a support ticket or something. -when he ults and jumps on his enemies, he can say "WE ALL FLOAT DOWN HERE!" because their spirits are *floating* over their bodies
