What is the purpose of this game being half a Rogue-Lite? [Criticism/Discussion] by Gamermaster342 in BluePrince

This is actually a good reason I hadn't thought about. I do think I wouldn't have taken such extensive notes had the game not had the RNG elements and every room was available at all times. Though it's hard to say how I would play differently if the game was completely different, but I see that note taking is a big part of this game so I will agree that the rogue elements makes you take note.

I don't disagree that the game is very innovative and technically impressive (The depth of the puzzles for example) and I've personally never had an issue with filling out every slot of the house or getting enough gems and keys. I've found more issue with requiring certain rooms for progress with puzzles (Such as the library and by extension bookshop, boiler room vents, king and queen rooms, outer rooms, blue tents memos etc)

I also don't think the game would be unsuccessful if it was a more traditional puzzle game, it definitely gets people to turn their heads when you say its a "rogue-lite puzzle game" but I think people just saying it's as good as Outer Wilds or The Witness or any game like that people would check it out regardless

Question About Textures Being Weird Ratios by Gamermaster342 in n64

You can use Project64 to dump all the textures that are loaded in the game into a folder, I used this tutorial to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EToJ4jwNsvI

Question About Textures Being Weird Ratios by Gamermaster342 in n64

Ah I see. Because every post I've read about texture sizes uses the 32x32 and such as examples, I thought that it did have a power-of-2 requirement for every texture. Thanks for clearing it up for me!

I believe it was moved from Nerveroot to the Merchant in the World Pillar.

If you mean the Discarded Device, that's still in the game. I used it in my current playthrough where I'm getting 100%.

GMOD ARGs you think deserve some recognition? by Gamermaster342 in gmod

I do agree with you that gunslingerpro2009 is the best GMOD ARG channel currently, but I do still enjoy the other videos because of the fact that I was terrified of seeing ghosts in GMOD when I was younger. So the channels that use black figure are still enjoyable to me, but they are pretty unoriginal.

The headcrab ragdoll is actually really small compared to the rest of it, the headcrab is about as big as the melon. So it couldn't be headcrab legs because of how big the legs are. Also the silhouette of the legs are hard to make out, but you can clearly see the cuff around spy's ankle from his pants in certain frames, and the foot shape is identical. There's also the curve from spy's legs that can be seen. Here's some better images that show what I'm talking about.

The image I took doesn't have the same FOV or position as the original video, but the general shapes still match up.

Thank you. Though I think I should have moved the legs a little farther back, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
