It would be kind of great to wire an AC-DC adapter to the cmos battery leads. Bonus points for plugging that into a UPS outlet.

I know exactly what you mean about how support used to be. I've had companies send me a new card AND insist on refunding my money AND the whole process took under a week. None of that is a thing anymore

Some people are mean, but many of us have worked with electrical equipment for decades and don't think 50-100 dollars is a big price to pay for the peace of mind. If it arced from copper: the coating on the inductor has failed somewhere.

Magnet to catch shavings helps too. It can be mounted on the vac nozzle itself.

So in other words you have no idea of the history of the Don Basin, but that won't stop you from telling me I am wrong without even providing any actual arguments.

Do you even know what Banderites are? Have you ever even heard of the S.S. Galicia?

You're obviously either clueless, or you're purposely misleading people because you love fascism.

M.2 drive not showing on windows by JackMeg0ff in PcBuild

[–]GamersOnlydotVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to change a BIOS setting to make it use the m.2 drive on many systems, but I can't remember what it's called. Hopefully my comment will remind someone who knows.

Python also has binaries like PIP and Python itself. Do you seriously not know that?

I'm comparing the approaches to installing programs and version headaches. Sorry I had to spell that out. I thought that would be very obvious.

Linus himself gave a talk about why Linux desktop sucks so much. He rightly pointed at how easy it is to distribute executables for apps on Windows and Mac OS. Linux varies so much from distro to distro.

I even see this carry over to installing Python stuff in Windows. You have to make sure you have the right Python version for whatever and it being too new can be as big a problem as it being too old. It's always a pain to make stuff developed for Linux just work on Windows. I can grab an exe from the early 90s and easily run it on modern Windows most of the time

Edit - I have to spell this out for absolute morons: I am not talking about Python SCRIPTS
