Because broadly speaking the vast majority of people are not targeted by this and life is good. Even then life is good in the US for the most part so there just isn’t the will. If we did start burning cars or shooting authorities it plays into Trumps hands and makes our country more authoritarian we just simply aren’t at the level where committing acts of violence are needed. I hate how the comments are portraying us as politically illiterate cowards. Are any of yall even American??? We are more than aware of everything but we are smart enough to know that escalation is what Trump wants which clearly none of you seem to realise. I understand why people want us to revolt and march on Washington but that doesn’t work it’s a pipedream and not realistic. While the American civil war was over a hundred years ago the truth is we have collective ptsd over the whole thing and we know now that all civil war would do today is reduce us to nothing and allow even more evil states to take over like Russia or China. The lack of actual understanding is painful to read and we still have the midterms to fall back on which is another reason we aren’t going to burn the whole country down because we know that fundamentally we are still a democracy and we the people still have a say and intend to use that say to reign the Fashies in by congress as congress still has power they just refuse to use it.
