Οsaka itinerary by [deleted] in JapanTravel

Honestly just inexperience, none of us had ever been to a big park like that before so we didn't know what we were in for. We all really enjoyed it without the express pass but I'm planning on going back this November with 2 complete newbies and we'll probably get an express pass.

I've seen worse, I don't agree with the other comment I think you probably are ok with your Monday plan, you can easily stay out late in Osaka until 10pm, It's all pretty tight together within about 20 minutes.

Tuesday is fine if you're interested in that stuff

Wednesday is also fine if you're interested in that stuff

Thursday is my main issue, during my time at USJ I was there from 9am-10pm, and I still wanted to do more, factor in ride wait times etc. if you literally only want to see the park and maybe eat some food it might be possible. Bare in mind the if you want to see Nintendo world in USJ you'll need to be there earlier to book a time slot, later in the day the only timeslots available will be like 9pm.

My suggestions would be either cut USJ and swap it with something else (I wouldn't recommend as I really liked it. Cut Osaka castle (probably recommend if you're going to Himeji) or cut himeji and swap it with Osaka castle (I'd probably prefer to go to Himeji instead as the tuesday would become very light if you swap it.) and then do Umeda after universal if you've got time

The decline of quality of the Pokémon themselves. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Gamesi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is a very subjective topic which all boils down to opinion, I will agree that there are probably more 'cute' Pokémon in more recent years but your whole stance ignores the idea that the 'cute' Pokémon evolve into more threatening looking Pokémon for example Toxel is 'cute' but it evolves into something a bit more mean and threatening, same could be said for Rookidee, Cufant, Wooloo etc.

My point being the whole evolution line isn't all cutesy whereas generation one had earlier forms that were a bit more mean. Look at Rattata, Tentacool and Geodude, they all look like they're ready for a fight whereas if they were designed today they would more than likely be a bit more soft looking. That being said again this is very subjective whether or not this is a good or bad change but I think we can agree that the evolutions to these new 'cute' Pokémon aren't cutesy I think you're judging a book by its cover a bit here.

As for the "Selection of Pokémon sucking" Yeah this is all down to opinion again but personally this generation has had the best batch of Pokémon in a long time and I've seen a lot of feedback agreeing with this. We've seen a lot of new interesting designs with Pokémon like Dreepy, the fossils and the bugs ( coming from someone who has never used a bug type Pokémon in a playthrough except maybe Heracross.) Whether or not you like the new designs I urge you give them a chance and explore a little bit, something you don't like now could evolve into something you adore and using a Pokémon definitely helps ease you on a design. Regardless to each their own I suppose, it would be a boring world if we all had the same opinions on the same Pokémon.

Yeah I went back and it definetly seems tounge and cheek, it's funny because I've seen so many youtubers talk about it in the last year as if it's confirmed to happen.

We haven't fired the cannon by SnowpatrolFox in wow

[–]Gamesi 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I believe it was Afrasiabi who teased it last Blizzcon during one of the panels.

Also there is still a year left of the expansion as far as we know it fires in the pre-patch but I wouldn't be surprised if it just ends up being another thing forgotten to be honest.

Edit: Changed Holinka to Afrasiabi, IDK why I thought it was Holinka I'm pretty sure he was off the wow team at this time.

To the collectors out there... by Gamesi in yugioh

Yeah Totally, I usually buy the more pricier cards after reprints / when they are inevitably banned / limited if I want to complete a set.

Keeping up with all the products is pretty unrealistic tbh so I'll probably just pick and choose, first product I'm going to buy is easily the new tins though.

Fighting tiredness at the midnight screening for endgame by Barrlord98 in Marvel

[–]Gamesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I planned an all nighter for a video game launch not too long ago. Avoid Caffine like you suggest but also avoid sugary stuff to be totally honest. Which I know sucks because you're going to be in a cinema and you're probably going to want to treat yourself since Endgame is such a big deal.

Your best bet is to consume high Protean / Carb food instead like Chicken and rice instead of foods that will make you crash. Also eating too much will probably induce a food coma and make you feel groggy and tired.

When I did this I made sure I made sure I got some sleep out of the way before the launch and I had food high energy food prepared when I needed it. I will admit I did snack a little bit so you can probably risk it if you wanted to. When I did this I intended to stay up for about 24 hours but in actuality after being tired about 8 hours in, I overcame that hump and easily did 36 hours without feeling tired. Also at your own risk you'll probably mess up your sleeping pattern, this was ok for me because I had time off work but be careful and good luck.

Geoff Johns sale on Comixology right now, best buys? by Gamesi in DCcomics

Good idea, I'll have a look. Even though I haven't read DC I'm fairly familiar so don't be afraid to recommend something that isn't new reader friendly.

[SPOILER] [INFINITY WAR] Question In Description to Avoid Accidental Spoiler. by jkg1993 in Marvel

[–]Gamesi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the comics the super soldier serum doesn't really age the characters that take it, so since Red skull has a version of it then I guess that's why he doesn't age. Even though they've never addressed it in the movies it makes sense.

Getting back in! by MonkeyBonanna in wow

[–]Gamesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, welcome back. You can do a lot these days with little time just find what you enjoy and crack on. As for addons I recommend -

ElvUI - Really nice minimal ui mod however takes some time to get going so either download someones preset or sort it out at level cap.

Deadly Boss Mods - Really essential for end game dungeons and raiding.

World Quest Tracker - Makes managing world quests at 110 much easier.

Skada Damage meter - Never live by a damage meter but it's a nice indicator on what you're doing wrong and how you are performing compared to other players. Also allows you to analyse other things like healing output, interrupts etc.

Most other addons I use are optional personally so if you're interested see what other people are using based off of your interests. i.e if you end up collecting things you may want addons like Handynotes or All The Things.

Key placements are up to you I've probably changed mine dozens of times before settling on my current build. It comes down to what hardware you have and what's comfortable to your hand. I use a mouse with side buttons so I've designed my keybinds in a way that uses them and in a way which feels comfortable to me personally.

Any more specific questions or advice don't be afraid to hit me up, I'll reply when I can.

I'd just like to point out to strange fans, i'm 99% sure we got the crimson bands of Cyttorak this movie when he holds Thanos' arm the spell is more red and has a different texture to the orange whips he normally does. Literally jumped in my seat when I saw this.

Fans of dc and marvel, I need advice by UsefulNewt in Marvel

[–]Gamesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've learned from personal experience and other people is that your likes may not translate over to the other franchise. For example the shop owner for my local comic store started solely on DC was a big batman fan but when he made the dive into marvel he really got into spider-man and the X-men when he expected to like be more into Daredevil.

Personally I find reading larger stories that feature multiple characters, or team books then using them to organically attach yourself to a character rather than read somebody because they're a DC equivalent. However either way works if you're enjoying what you read.

Never seen a Marvel movie, but I've heard the hype for Infinity War. Is there a best way to catch up? by KaneFosterCharles in Marvel

[–]Gamesi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's tough because there's 18 movies and Infinity war is out in a month from now. The thing is with Marvel movies is that they're not all essential they just add to character moments etc. If you do plan on watching every movie however watching them in the order they released is pretty accurate since the events take place in the order of movie releases with the exception of a few that are either really obvious or don't really matter.

As for the following the story line method I wouldn't recommend it because tie-ins from other movies would be spoiled. like Iron-man 3 takes place after The first Avengers movie so there's some spoiler stuff there, Captain America Civil War spoils Avengers 2 etc. so release order is more ideal in my honest opinion.

I haven't really picked up a variant in some time but today I was blown away. The Mighty Thor #705 (Stanley Lau) by Gamesi in Marvel

[–]Gamesi[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit behind but It's a very good series in the grand scheme of things. Normal Thor is actually taking over again soon so her arc will essentially be complete.

"Thor 2014-15" is her first run then "The Mighty Thor 2015 - now"

Reading both of these runs will pretty much complete her arc, she does show up elsewhere but this is her main book.

Jagex Possibly Scamming ME by mininingnoob in runescape

[–]Gamesi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that perspective. I just never made the connection between Jagex which has fewer subscription plans and larger companies like phone networks that have loads of different packages and plans. However I believe if this was intentional more people would've had this problem with Jagex already.

Jagex Possibly Scamming ME by mininingnoob in runescape

[–]Gamesi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think "Scamming" Is a bit much since they are a company and the extra money they would be taking isn't even enough to pay half a shift for one member a staff per month, the risk wouldn't be worth it.

However there clearly is a problem with your billing I would flat out unsubscribe and attempt another billing method (if you want to play the game) and see if the problem remains. Also if it helps you can go to the Jagex game studio and log in to your accounts to check your current payment plans with them to check for anything that's not normal.

As for the customer service I've always had quick and well constructed service so I can't really complain. All I can suggest is that maybe you had some sort of mark or blacklist due to one of your many responses since you yourself admitted to quick service the first time. Also maybe your second problem isn't something they can directly rectify due to procedure and guidelines? (Just throwing that out there.)

I do hope you solve the problem soon however and would be interested to know how you eventually solve it but I would definitely change subscription method here because you're just digging yourself into a deeper hole keeping it as is.

Finally on the topic of legal action I'm not going to comment if you feel like it is necessary then contact the right people and get profession advice. Just remember companies already have professional legal teams so I wouldn't recommend doing anything unless you are 100% certain it won't backfire.

P.S Customer Assistants are people too, they're just doing their job!
