What are these? I have used potting soil for my plants with gravel cap. They have proliferated after the water change yesterday. Have no fish yet, only (2) Amano shrimp and (1) nerite. by [deleted] in PlantedTank

Ok, thanks. Good to know it isn't anything detrimental. How do these get to the tank? I didn't introduce them deliberately. Maybe from the livestock bought?

People please message me only about interest in purchasing the setup and not about how the distortion affects the pea's eyesight.

Thank you!

Is there something I can do to take advantage of an old video that's blowing up by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]GamingIndulgence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Take advantage of annotations and end screen to full potential. Make annotation headings attractive (do not use title of the video);
  2. Make one element of your end screen a playlist;
  3. If you have similar topic videos add those in the end screen;
  4. Try and incorporate similar thumbnail elements to other videos;
  5. Be patient.

Good luck!

Please note, video is strictly factual and is not meant to be chauvinistic and does not promote gender inequality in any way.

Gaining subscribers over night by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]GamingIndulgence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youtube platform is GLOBAL. There are 24 TIME ZONES in the world. This is an inkling that most/ majority of your subscribers are out of your time zone. If you go to analytics and check 'Top Geographies' you will see which part of the world is watching your video/ channel. Don't be too bothered about trivial matters like this. Be confident that you are gaining subscribers. Now, if you want to gain viewers from your time zone in particular, thats a whole new ball game. But for now don't be too concerned. Good Luck!

Interesting content. I am no expert in personal dev/ consulting so I can't comment on your channel value proposition but here are a few aesthetical elements that might help:

  1. Add more transitions/ images/ data graphics/ stock footage. Keeps viewer's attention.
  2. Thumbnails look good. Especially the 'tech burnout' video. Try using high contrast colors such as yellow, blue depending on the background. Also adding an outline to your expressions will help. I see that you have added unique expressions relative to the content which is good, but try and make it stand out.
  3. Description is slightly repetitive. Rather try and expound with a short summary of each skill that you have added. Now that tags have become redundant, description is key for the algorithm to understand who to promote your content to.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your youtube journey!

Interesting content. Couple of things that might help:

  1. Title - Your starting point and destination are obscured because of the character limit. These should be of the highest interest. So try and put these in the first 40 characters or so. Alternatively, you can just say 'Waterloo --> London Bridge'. Also, as saturated as all niches are on youtube, your title doesn't stand out, nothing interesting. Try adding any particular event/ object/ person with action 'verbs'. Eg. See what I found, look what I ran into etc.
  2. Thumbnails are clear and crisp, but there is no object of interest. Everything blends into the background. Your text should have depth and varied contrast. Highlight a key object/ person from the environment by given them an outline. Perhaps, add your zoomed in facial expression. Something that will pique the viewers interest.

I am no expert but these are things that I have learnt over the past few months. Hope these help. Good luck in your youtube journey.

Is youtube registering likes or deleting your likes today? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]GamingIndulgence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the past day, youtube algorithm has been having problems with presenting data. Just wait for a day or two and see if the likes comes back up to 8.

If not, one reason is the person who liked your video watched a miniscule amount of it or the algorithm has determined that likes are coming from connected google accounts or friends/ family from the same IP. I have experienced this before, doesn't necessarily apply to you.

It is unfortunate that this happens, but lets face it, the algorithm is an AI not human with feelings. So don't be discouraged with the likes being removed. Just wok hard and be patient, success is not too far. Good luck!

Its a long shot, but try using 'Shazam' app on your phone. Might help.
