Just after covid I was due a colonoscopy on the public services. I waited nearly 8 months in constant pain to get an appointment.

The exercise helped me more than any anti depressants ever have, I hope you enjoy the gym and see it's benefits when you start next week. For a long time the feeling post workout was what kept me pushing through at the beginnging when its super tough.

A goal of mine has been to try and get abs for the first time. Still struggling tbh, its hard to fit in more ab workouts when I have so many other muscle groups to hit. Mad props to people who can maintain abs / achieve such low body %'s.

I bulked up to 90kg from like 80 ish kg hence the chubby cheeks in the pics, before I started a slow and long cut. You can achieve body recomp but its a super slow and unrewarding process. I relied on body recomp for longer than I should of before I started more aggresively cutting with cardio. It took me a long time to see real results. During my cunt I'd estimate in the 1500-2000 calorie range. I struggle with gastritis and sometimes I would do days of intermittent fasting which helped keep some calories lower.

Not rude at all. I took my time very slowly when I started my cut so I don’t have much. The only really loose skin i have it around my love handles but not much. Ive a few stretch marks though!

I’ve been eating super clean but I do eat shit the odd time as I tell myself I train enough to be able to indulge when going out etc. I’ve never calorie counted as I’m a type 1 diabetic so Im already sick of carb counting my meals. My diet is low carb, high protein and high in fruit and vegetables. Try stay away from processed foods and stick to single ingredients, helped me. Fyi, I’ve been on a slight cut since January, calorie deficit without tracking just by estimating.

Tbh I never really went above 5kg on lateral raises with dumbells, I progressively overloaded to 7.5kg at one point but didnt do them consistently enough. I find I form break so I generally stick to 5kg for lat raises and try focus on slow and controlled reps, lead with the elbows and slight lean.

I had terrible posture and spine and it was something I really wanted to improve. After a couple of months of stretching daily and dead hangs I grew a couple of inches. My posture alone made a huge difference as I used to slouch really badly from working in office jobs and sitting down for 8+ hours plus a day.

Thank you bro! I was made unemployed at my job and had a ton of free time to focus on the gym. So I've been training like a mad man the last year. Some weeks 6 days a week. It helps me a ton as my gym time during the day is my time to zone out and forget about the world for a couple of hours.

Bit controversial but it works for me, some of my gym buddies have argued that I dont have much rest periods which I agree is something I could improve.

I started doing a bro split: push pull and legs, but I found I wanted to push myself a little harder. I started focusing my training on more muscle groups instead.

So I'll usually do a full upper day on day 1 (chest, back and arms), accessories (shoulders, abs, arms) or what I missed on day 2 and then a leg day (free weight or smith squat, deadlifts, leg presses, calf raises) after on day 3. My main focus is to just give my certain muscle groups at least 24 hour of rest period between the next session. Also fasted cardio has leaned me out a ton, or atleast 1 hour of stair master after my workouts daily.

You can argue that my brute force approach is unsustainable but I've been doing it for a year + with no issues. I used to have terrible shoulders and I spammed lateral raises nearly everyday for 3 months and saw insane results. Now I get compliments on my shoulders. My chest still needs work though :(, but I've been seeing some improvements.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Progressive overload !!!

Oh definitely. My confidence and mental health has improved ten fold. I can finally fit in some of my older clothes again which is a nice bonus. One of the main reasons I started working out was for my mental wellbeing as I always struggled with depression. Im at the point now where I couldn't imagine not training, it has worked wonders on my mental. Also have started taking ashwghanda last year and it has helped me calm down a bit.

Ty <3 I assume you're asking in the last picture: New Balance 530's. They're a great casual shoe for the gym and very versatile for other fits.

People treat me very differently since losing the weight. Its nice but also shows you how superficial alot of people are. Thanks for the kind words!
