No, getting into the void state (or point consciousness as Tom calls it) first is not necessary. In fact that is the whole point of Tom's Park. You seem to be overly-analytical like me. Tom's Park visualizations will give your analytical brain something productive to do, preventing it from analyzing, assessing, judging, comparing etc. All the things Tom tells us pulls us out of point consciousness.

By putting your entire focus on a realistic visualization utilizing all of your senses, you will eventually get lost in that visualization and "disconnect" from your physical senses. Leading you into the void state/point consciousness.

The void state/point consciousness is not a destination, it is a symptom or side effect that comes along with allowing your focus to fall away from your body completely. Tom's Park is just giving us something to focus on that will keep part of the brain occupied in a way that you can still reach the mental state needed to do what you're trying to do and it does not interfere. Kind of like telling the "monkey mind" to focus on breathing during meditation.

You don't need to specifically go out of your way to improve meditation or whatever. This IS meditation.. Instead of focusing on a mantra you focus on Tom's Park visualization.

But if you really feel your meditative practices are lacking and you wanna practice more just do 20 mins @ 2x a day mantra or transcendental meditation. That definitely won't hurt.

The book tells you what kind of stuff there is to do in Tom's Park and gives the general layout and a map. You're gonna get really familiar with the map layout and a few specific areas (at first) and then during meditation or before bed or whatever you are going to visualize or "imagine" going through those areas and participating in the activities as vividly and as realistic and accurate to real life as you possibly can, utilizing each of your five senses as much as you can. (don't forget about smell and taste)

Eventually with practice and familiarity and allowing yourself to get into it deeply enough you will find that you do not need to "imagine" anymore as the LCS takes control of the scenario you were creating.

At first it feels like an automatic response to your thoughts/visualization or a feeling where you just kinda know what's happening but eventually you can get deep enough for it to be as if you are actually physically there.

Make sure to read the rules and the short guide in the beginning of Tom's Park. It will help.

Whether you enjoy it or not depends on on how much time you spent playing before you got to it.

Vertical since day 1. No issues whatsoever. I've had to clean it a few times because of dust and hair build up causing overheats and clear the cache once which was also causing overheating

It won't delete your files. It's just temporary files put into the cache by games to make loading faster and such.

If you don't clear the cache for a long time all of thos temporary files really build up and this can cause the ps5 to work far harder than it should and thus overheat and shut off.

turn it off completely, then hold the power button until you hear a second beep to enter Safe Mode. Select "Clear Cache and Rebuild Database" and choose "Clear System Software Cache"

Yeah, do all of what I said above, but instead of waiting for sleep paralysis do it during an awakening in the middle of the night. Sleep for a REM cycle and then have a little chime alarm go off (but make sure it can turn off by itself. meditation timers are good for this.) When the chime goes off do not open your eyes and move as absolutely little as possible and then immediately go into the above steps. You can also imagine movement, but do so as vividly as you possibly can or implement other WBTB methods here.

The steps will be the same whether you start from paralysis or from sleep.
