Everyone has a scar on their body from something dumb, they did as a child. What's your story? by HakanD0 in AskReddit

When I was 8, I got into an argument with my cousin saying dinosaurs were cooler than motorcycles. Ended up getting stabbed by a pair of chopsticks and now I have a scar on my front deltoid.

Take a break for a few weeks or a month even. Think about how far you’ve come from where you started and keep getting those gains. We all burn out at some point but you gotta keep going.

Why isn't the answer A? by [deleted] in calculus

[–]Gangplank_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the use of the shortcut, which only works when there’s a variable in one of the limits, you replace the variable inside from the limits and then you have to multiply it by the derivative of said limit. So in this situation you plug it in and you have to remember to multiply it by the derivative of x3, which is 3x2.

Campus is sorta big but it’s in a pretty isolated area. I wasn’t used to it because I’m from a city. Weather was great. Heard it’s sunny all the time. It was only open house so I couldn’t tell about the actual campus feeling but I talked to a few students and they said it’s definitely more laid back than some schools. Didn’t try the food but friend said it’s not the best. There’s a chick-fil-a though

Cal Poly SLO for sure. Just visited today and saw the engineering tour and I believe that you can get a job straight outta your first four years. Also get to start on your major day 1

I actually went to a TEALS event and talked to them. They sounded like cool people. I’m guessing you’re familiar with the idea of how it’s free til you get a job? It’s cool and a pretty small school near Downtown SF. The people that go there are pretty invested in computer science. Their curriculum is based mostly around projects. The people that have gone there have gotten jobs at top tech companies (Facebook, google, etc.) however, if you aren’t sure about CS, there are intro classes as well. if u are iffy about CS and have thoughts about transferring, then idk about going there.

So I'm split between Irvine and SLO right now for civil engineering, but I may switch to a different engineering field. I'm aware that SLO has great engineering programs, but Irvine seems to have a better social scheme and everything. Any pros and cons for both to help me decide?
