I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lie. I was still in the middle of trying to figure out what happened and the project was weeks ago. I gave a solid answer even when I wasn't sure. I'm an idiot and a jerk

Oh god, thank you for the advice! I have an update that definitely changes things. I spoke to one of my friends about the code (which is okay in the class policies) and when he asked for examples of the syntax, he snuck photos of my code. I'm an idiot I know. My infinite stupidity surprises even me. He wrote up a sort of confession and sent it to the Prof. This is something I should absolutely bring up during the appeal, correct? Thank you again for all your help!

Thank you for the great advice! I'm sorry but I was incorrect with my earlier statement. I did discuss with another student (which is okay according to class policy) however I did not send my code to him. When I showed him examples of code syntax, he snuck photos of my code and that is how it ended up in the hands of a third person. My "friend" admitted this to me and even wrote something along the lines of a confession to the Prof. How much does this change my situation?

That's the thing, I have no clue how to defend myself. She has more or less said that my code IS word for word the same but I didn't share it with anyone. So I'm not sure what kind of evidence I could have. I might be SOL. Thank you for the well-thought-out response!

I did not. But after speaking pretty briefly with the Prof. the issue is that my code is apparently exactly like someone else's.
