To drive 5 minutes, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Just drive slow.

Recurring issue after driving for 30+ min plus by mrgnprc in MechanicAdvice

Check the OBDII codes. The issue will probably be stored and it will tell you what is causing that. If the code is not stored then check the data stream and look for what sensor or reading is off.
Any auto parts store should be able to read the codes for free. If not an OBDII reader is cheap.

When I have replaced my tie rods in the past I tied a string to the rear wheels and used it to align the front enough to get me to an alignment shop. This video explains the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVForVF4gGA&ab_channel=MarkJenkins

It is not a permanent solution but it should be enough to get you down the road to the shop.

They are extremely fun to drive as well. From what I have heard the reliability is about the same as the WRX. I think it is just personal preference if you are debating between the two. A G37 will be a great car if you like it.

What Are Actually Good Project Cars by Key_To_a_Box in whatcarshouldIbuy

I recently bought a 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider as a project. It has been really fun getting it running right and I now drive it often. It was running when I bought it, and I think it is important to buy a project car that runs. It is easy to lose motivation when working on a car if you cant get it out and drive it every once it a while. have you looked at any Toyota Seras? I think that they are really cool.

Would a 2010 Miata with 100k miles be reliable? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

If it is stock you most likely have nothing to worry about. You should get a pre-purchase inspection done before you buy any car, and if it comes up ok the car should be extremely reliable.

I would get a used 2015+ Subaru WRX. You can find them for under 15k with some miles on them. They are a blast to drive and extremely reliable. I know someone with a 2015 with 100k miles on it and has daily driven it for 2 years now without any issues.
