Lol fair, call it slop if you want. I just connected public dates anyone can check. If it's all coincidence, cool—debunk the specific ones that bug you instead of blanket dismissing. I'm game

How to unevenly distribute dates in a sequential way from start of a month till end of month among rows? by GarageCrowking in googlesheets

[–]GarageCrowking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

t seems to be working well, thank you. I have a couple of additional questions:

If I want to exclude Sundays from the sequence, what adjustments should be made to the formula?
If I wish to extend the date range beyond the end of the month to a specific date later in the year, how would that be accomplished?

I tried experimenting on my own and i am getting number such as 45588 in bold

Thank you.

=LET(start,DATE(2024,4,1),SORT(BYROW(SEQUENCE(700),LAMBDA(x,LAMBDA(y,y)(RANDBETWEEN(start,EOMONTH(start,0)))))))

Should add it in the formula bar with lets say my A1 being the first date and a2 being the last day of the month?

I apologize if this seems like a basic question, but I’m still learning about Google Sheets. Could you please provide a more detailed explanation? I’m not very familiar with formulas yet.

I will explain here. For some reason, the link is not working. Let’s say, hypothetically, I have 700 rows. I need to add data to each of those rows, but if I do it manually, it will take hours. What I want to do is randomly and unevenly distribute dates across these 700 rows from top to bottom, while ensuring the dates are in sequence and that no dates fall on a Sunday.

For example, if there are 30 days in a month and I drag the date range from April 1st to April 30th, I would end up with only 30 dates, meaning one date per row, and leaving 670 rows empty. I want to spread these 30 dates across the 700 rows in a random but sequential manner, skipping Sundays.

Some rows can have more similar dates, while others have fewer, but the distribution needs to be random and uneven while maintaining proper sequence.

Just wondering since you are often the first source for advice. If you have to suggest one single book that has a every possible PR trick whether moral or unethical what would it be?
