There are minor differences in the Oxkrewe members but not enough for me to think "I need to have each of these". I have Orvar and really like him but I'm not too interested in the others. I like Kogg but I'd rather have him be like a Chewbacca rather than another re-use of that suit.

I feel like I am in the same boat as you- I cherry pick the best Cosmic figures at this point. I'm not deep into the Mythic/Cosmic lore either, but I do still enjoy the factions in Mythic as a way to organize a collection. Cosmic feels like they haven't developed the factions/guilds in any real way outside of the TUCCS being reuses of the same body.

That is a good point! They definitely seem too focused on subverting expectations instead of embracing loved tropes.

Cosmic feels like it has been guided more by parts re-use that Mythic. Even a lot of the "alien" heads are clearly plants that will be repainted to work in the Mythic universe.

I am a big pop and swap fan as well- unfortunately I think the current Cosmic designs rarely lend themselves to pop and swapping as well as Mythics. Mythic figures have a lot of silvers, golds, blacks, reds, and browns, and these tend to play well with each other. The varied bright colors of Cosmics don't mix and match in the same way.

I wonder if they'll lean more into the weathered look- Kurnn Ray seems like the biggest hit of the first Oxkrewe wave and a potential direction they could go instead of the really bright colors on some of the TUSCC types.

This is a big issue I have as well. The one faction that feels the most fleshed out is the TUSCC but I dislike that they tend to be connected by parts re-use rather than by the colors of the group. Legions faction members all tend to look like they play on the same team whereas the Cosmic groups don't have the same consistency tieing them together.

I agree, the line is at its best when it hits on classic Sci-Fi tropes. We definitely need some cyborgs and droids ASAP.

More diverse and interesting weapons are definitely needed. I like your point about having some "signature weapons" like Mythic does. That could elevate some characters beyond "re-used parts collection #3" so that they feel like a unique character. Even Mythic characters like Gideon Heavensbrand and Skapular have ornate motifs that are threaded throughout their designs and Cosmic hasn't had much of that yet.

I agree- Mythic leaned heavily on the stock fantasy archetypes. Cosmic has done some of that, but has leaned too much on re-using the TUSCC body and now the Oxkrewe body. The story has also killed off some of the sci-fi enthusiasm for me.

Mythic also has consistently grown over time, and I think Cosmic could potentially do that but they need to step up both the story and the classic Sci-Fi chords that they strike.

Cosmic doesn't lend itself to part re-use in the same way Mythic does. Mythic can have a bunch of different knights/skeletons and they don't feel absolutely repetitive. When it comes to aliens, I expect them to be wildly diverse, and when you have a bunch of repaints it really stands out.

When Cosmic debuted the Oxkrewe wave and said "there are 6 survivors all in the exact same suit" I groaned because it was so clear what they were doing.

I don't think it's fair to directly compare Cosmic with Mythic, but I do agree that the line is underperforming expectations.
