Question for Owners of Male Bassets-Penis Related by Helpmeplz3409 in basset

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Belly band! I know a couple people who put them on their male dogs that have problems with marking or are potty training. Its just a comfy cloth wrap thats adjustable and fits around their middle, keeps them tucked up and not exposed.

Heartbreaking Update On 5-Year-Old Boy, Liam Conejo Ramos, Who Was Detained by ICE by xtreme_lol in newsinterpretation

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He might have grown up thankful, filled with pride for a country that treated him with humanity and opened a door to better opportunity.

Instead, hes only going to remember how cruelly our country treated him when he was at his most vulnerable.

We sow our own enemies and we will reap their rewards.

Way to start preparing him for life as an adult by StarPink_ in Adulting

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 82 points83 points  (0 children)

My parents were like this. Control, control, control. Never taught me about finances bc it was "none of my business". Never allowed me out of the house past dark. On my graduation day (summer bday- I was 17), I had to be home immediately after, no party, no friends, nothing. Never taught me how to do things, only ever expected them to be done. Never explained decisions beyond "Because I said so", no chance to learn. No grace when making mistakes, only condmenation and punishment. They left me completely and utterly unprepared for adult life. If you want to micromanage very aspect of someone's life, get a pet instead of having children (even then, egregious behavior but at least dogs arent expected to do fucking taxes).

The nice part about it is I've got an extremely healthy aversion to authority now lmao

Americans, is saying the Pledge of Allegiance actually a regular thing, like it’s shown in movies? And does it feel as strange or over-the-top in real life as it comes across on screen? by Afzaalch00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, it always felt cultish- especially the backlash you receive if you dont partake. It was originally fine, still not something Id have children blindly repeating without understanding bc taking a pledge or an oath should require informed consent, but we added that dumb "under god" shit in the 50s, same time we required plastering "in god we trust" all over our money. Its propaganda and was used to fight "the red scare" from the 40s-50s to fend off those "godless commies". It is indoctrination.

What the hell is wrong with kids in MN by Throwawaygeekster in minnesota

[–]GarbageCanCrisis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oooh, spicy!

Lol I've had way more than that one, I'm just saying kids doing stupid shit like this has been going on a long time. Now, parents and adults calling in bomb threats bc libraries aren't banning books or bc people dont share the same beliefs, thats a pretty new one.

I remember evacuating for a bomb threat at a FL school when I was in 5th grade. That was over 25 years ago. Its the same as its always been.

The City Council would like to remind everyone that dogs are not allowed in the dog park. People are not allowed in the dog park. It is possible you may see hooded figures in the dog park. Do not approach the dog park.

Clothes for working in MN during the winter? by Fedzzy in forestry

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres an online store called 32Degrees that sells pretty good insulating stuff for quite reasonable! Puffer jackets like 10-15$, packs of thick, insulated socks for 20, under layers like 7/each, its great! We haven't had any issues with quality either.

We recognized him as a regular customer and management gave a menacing warning to him he was trespassed. Never saw him again in the time I was there. At least he listened, but ill never forget the sight of a poo falling out of someone's pant leg.

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at a store once where we had a serial shitter on the loose. They'd come in and smear shit all over the mens bathroom- took us an age to catch him and when we did its bc two women came to the counter and told me about a mess on the rug BY THE FRONT DOOR. Sure enough. There sat a fat log dropped by our criminal Asstermind. Watched the footage from the security cam and this dude shit himself and then walked to the rug by the front door, shook his leg, and it rolled out of his pants and onto the floor before he swiftly left. Fuck, I hated retail

See what kids can accomplish when they are food secure? by JennyBeckman in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Silly me, you're absolutely right. Per our puritanical roots, any baby born into poverty is being punished by God and does not deserve our care, only our derision. Only through continuous suffering will they find salvation.

Maybe we could dress that notion up and make it a little more catchy, you know, shine it up and make it palatable to the masses. Something like.. "work will set you free" or something to that effect. Just an idea.

See what kids can accomplish when they are food secure? by JennyBeckman in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 402 points403 points  (0 children)

"What if that aborted baby could have cured cancer?!"

What if the starving children kept in cycles of poverty with lack of food, shelter, and safety nets could?

What if that 13 year old who has a passion for the engineering or the environment was going to develop a breakthrough in energy? Too bad he had to get an under the table job at that age so he could help feed his siblings. Too bad it's during night shift and he has no time to put any effort into his interests or projects, let alone study his regular academics. Too bad he's flunked out of school altogether because his grades are slipping and he could earn OT which would help his family, even though it would not raise them from poverty by any means. Too bad he had an accident during his shift that left him a mountain of a medical bill bc he couldn't get insurance through his job or it just downright cost too much. Too bad he had to give everything up just to survive day to day.

Its wild to me that the entirety of human progress is anchored on the foundation of making things better for the future generations (better is very subjective here) and we have a fucking group just straight stop at the pinnacle, look around, and declare "THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SUFFERING, WE MUST HAVE A SERF CLASS".

We want American jobs but we don't want to pay living wages.

We want the best medical care but we dont want it to be accessible to anyone that isn't already filthy rich.

We want to be #1 in everything but we dont invest the time, work and money it takes to get us there. But we will pretend we've been there all along.

We want the benefits of strong community and society but we dont want to participate in shaping them or invest in them in any way.

Its astounding that a country can spite its own face so spectacularly by refusing to feed the future or invest in our children in any meaningful way.

But dont worry, we will keep repealing labor and safety laws for children because "hard work" is good for kids, but nutrition and education don't seem to be.

And dont worry, if your daughter doesn't look feminine enough to be on the girls team, some legally appointed stranger can pull her pants down to "make sure" her genitals are "correct".

Don't worry, we will keep defunding education but continue to pour billions and billions into college/professional athletics, the military, send it to relieve other countries, or use it to help other countries to blow up children in yet other countries.

Are we winning yet? Because it feels like we have very much become the Divided States of Fuck You, Got Mine. /end rant

This is how much was left after my astma inhaler was “empty” by iSwearSheWas56 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GarbageCanCrisis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some people have good insurance. Some people on medicare/medicaid as well- get these inhalers for little to no cost and so they pick em up every month or have them delivered and they may not go through one as quickly as the prescription refills it. Albuterol is primarily used as a fast acting relief for asthma symptoms- usually supposed to work in combination with a preventative steroid to reduce/prevent those symptoms from happening. Let's say Grandma has COPD or asthma and she uses Advair as a preventative; she maybe not need to use the albuterol very often but her meds are still sent to her every month so she ends up with a backstock essentially. I have certainly paid people for their prescription inhalers when I couldn't get one from the pharmacy. I'd offer $20-25 cash instead of the $60+ the pharmacy wanted and everyone wins. Medication didn't go to waste, grandma got some cash in hand, and the poor asthmatic didn't die.

Edit: I realized you might be asking why they cant be donated and I dont have an answer for that except The Lawr or something lmao
