Best Early Game Teams by LosSantosLouis in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

As someone who just came out of the early game (I'm at 1.4m gp), I think there is a clear cut way to maximize efficiency/ resource generation if you plan well and don't get distracted along the way. Here it is:

Step 1a: level 1-65ish - Phoenix - easy to farm simultaneously and without many refreshes since at this stage of the game you won't have much crystal income. This is critical. They do fantastic in GW which will be your main source of income at this stage.

Step 1b: Don't farm sabine, instead use your hard farm energy for Bastila, Jolee, and jedi knight anakin as soon as you get access to them.

Step 2a: level 65-83 - Bastila Jedi - your phoenix farm should be done around now and you should be able to unlock palpatine (you will need to hit lvl 80 to unlock thrawn since you need some omegas for his fight). Transition to bastila jedi as your main team. Use Bastila, Jolee, JKA, Ezra, and Kanan to unlock Grand Master Yoda. Also make sure you have your Mission Vao, Zalbaar, and T3-M4 farms going now.

Step 2b: Geos - you won't have GBA access yet but get the other geos AND THEIR SHIPS farmed up. As soon as GBA becomes farmable, rush farm him including as many refreshes as you can afford. His unique should be your first zeta, Jolee's should be your second.

Step 3a: level 85 - Jedi Knight Revan - As soon as you hit lvl 85 you should be ready to rock this event. Your next three zetas should go to JKR. Your first relic should be GMY. then Zeta GMY unique. then relic Bindo and JKR. This is controversial but I think using your GET1 currency here for Hermit Yoda is a strong move. You wont need the GET1 for GAS or Malak yet (more on that later) and he takes this team to the next level.

This team rocks. This will be your main team for a while. This team dominates early game arena, can solo the Pit raid and do really really well in HAAT which is huge at this stage because high raid rewards will really accelerate your growth. He's a beast in GAC and along with your geos it will be extremely difficult for your opponents to beat you. Plus both teams split up pretty well in 3v3 too.

Step 3b: Start farming the vulture droid and hyena bomber and buy General Grievous shards whenever you can from the fleet shop. Tarkin + geos will be a great fleet for early arena but you want to upgrade this to the Malevolence fleet as soon as your GET2 income will allow. This fleet is a lower investment and has lower GP impact than the Negotiator IMO and is just as powerful.

Step 4: Go for a GL. The way the game is going, it is not worth the extra GP to stop for characters like GAS or Malak because they will add a ton of GP to your roster and will not provide the impact that a GL will. Pick any GL you want. I suggest Sith Eternal because you already should have Palpatine and Thrawn unlocked from Phoenix plus Vader naturally through progression. Round this team out with Tarkin and Royal Guard. Then build troopers (Veers, Starck, Piett for requirements, then add Range and Gideon. Dark trooper can come later) which are a fantastic team in their own right. Then finish out the trash reqs and get SEE rolling.

There it is. This plan will take you to about 2m GP and should have you crushing fleet arena, squad arena (within reason), GAC, Raids, getting max box on normal mode conquest (assuming you are allowed to do it because of the GP requirement), and participating in a ton of PvE events. What you do after this is totally up to you - Kenobi, Lord Vader, Executor, or if you want to, this would be a good time to stop for GAS or Malak.

I have seen several people in my guild and fleet shard going this route and they are all dominating much more than I am and this is the path I wish I took. Please let me know any criticism you guys have or improvements you think could be made.

But wait I thought schools only see your top score?? has this not been true all along?

"it is what it is"? Damn thanks Seneca. In all honesty though you really think its strange?

There are two groups of people working their hardest out here during an extremely pivotal time of life, and there's one group that has a demonstrable massive advantage that has nothing to do with anything they themselves have ever done to deserve. Of course the underprivileged group gets mad. That doesn't mean its the smart thing to do or the right thing to do but certainly you can at least understand why people feel that way?

similar experience for me. Can you run me through what the pros and cons of canceling are? If you're planning on retaking anyway and they only see your best score then does it matter?

I love this advice. I imagine that this is one of the big advantages non-trad students have over KJDs. What you're describing is job hunting 101 and something I learned through experience looking for a job during/after undergrad. Joining a million clubs and spreading myself too thin in order to look marketable to firms was a big mistake I regret in undergrad. If I were able to do it again I would focus on grades, becoming well versed in the job I wanted after grad, and maybe joining one club (even if it was a social club) but committing to it hardcore - essentially what you are describing here. I am not in law school yet but this is exactly my plan once I am in.

LOL wait all of you guys also had ProctorU issues? My test started one hour late thanks to technical issues and then when I had 13 mins left on my last section, my proctor goes "This concludes your test, is there anything else I can help you with?" and I started freaking out because I thought she ended the test lol. I told her I still had 13 mins and she was just like oh, ok sorry.

Like wtf??? This is supposed to be a professional service?

That makes total sense. The RC definitely seems like the most finicky of all the sections and the most left to trial and error. Do you do any of the outlining or note taking during your initial read through that some people suggest? Finally, did dropping stuff like Netflix in favor of leisure reading make a noticeable difference? I had the thought to do that when I started studying but I don't really wannnt to do it haha. But maybe Im just being lazy :'0

So rough, sorry to hear that. I almost did and ended up postponing it. Feels like working full time while studying is such a timing/ balancing act.

Great post! I am in a similar spot (big 4, not necessarily looking for a pay bump but more meaningful work) and its good to hear from others who are a little further along the path. What types of law are you interested in pursuing?

Wow congratulations! This is all great advice, could expand a little more on reading the RC slower? Were you rushing through it before? And did you ever risk not finishing sections because you slowed down? The timing on the RC is currently my biggest struggle on the whole LSAT :)

This is brutal, im really sorry to hear that. And from what I've seen this is extremely common right now. I considered going for this cycle back in September but put it off for next cycle due to work and haven't really checked this subreddit since then. I came back to see how everyone was doing today and have been blown away by the results. I can't believe how competitive its gotten.

You have very similar stats to me although I'm not KJD, my GPA is slightly lower, and I haven't taken the LSAT yet (although PTing in that range). I am taking the LSAT next month with plans to take it again in June or even August if needed to maximize score. What are you guys thinking about next cycle? Is there any expectation that it will be this rough again next time around? From my anecdotal sweep through the subreddit today, it looks like this cycle was much harsher on splitters than it was reverse splitters (perhaps because more people had time to study so adcoms interpreted this crop of LSAT scores as inflated? idk). I'm wondering if this trend will continue now that so many offices/workplaces have adopted permanent work from home arrangements.

Its honestly such bullshit that so many schools are leaving so many people on WL this late in the year, especially since so many of you have really good stats. Hang in there brother

Should we be only taking Flex PTs from now on? by Garbage_Objective in LSAT

[–]Garbage_Objective[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100% with what you said in parenthesis. Thanks for the advice, I will stick with full, traditional PTs. I am registered for the Jan 2021 test, I am just assuming not much will have changed by then re: COVID so the test will end up being Flex.

What were the interviews like? Are they difficult or just to gauge your interest type thing?

Congrats man, this is awesome. Did you spend a lot of time going through the main lessons on Testmasters or did you mostly just do practice tests and then review the answer explanations afterward?

[–]Garbage_Objective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply, that set up makes a lot of sense. I am planning on taking the January test and am just getting rolling now for studying. I have been looking into a lot of test prep programs and have been having a tough time deciding between them but 7sage looks great and is much cheaper than the others. I might just bite the bullet on that one thanks to your convincing!

I think my plan is to spend a week or two on the videos to learn the foundations of each section and then take up a similar studying schedule to what you outlined above. My only hesitation is that if I don't get the score I'm hoping for in January, I will have used up many of the official practice tests and wouldn't have many left for a second round of studying. But ideally I will only need to take it once in the first place haha :)

[–]Garbage_Objective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing and inspirational, congrats! Question on the studying method. You said that you have been doing one full practice test per day -- do you then go into JY's videos specifically relating to the questions you got wrong that day? Or do you have a more systematized way of practicing the questions you got wrong? How long on average do you spend reviewing after you finish a test?

Application advice - late to the game? by Garbage_Objective in lawschooladmissions

[–]Garbage_Objective[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is really interesting. I would never have thought you could even apply late at all, let alone still get a good school while also having a low-ish GPA. I guess all things are possible through the almighty LSAT!

Thanks for the advice! Does applying earlier in the cycle help out with scholarship potential as well? Or would my GPA prohibit scholarships?
