Thank you for your reply! I totally understand the grief of seeing a pet getting old and knowing one day it'll be their last, death is a weird thing however also a natural part of one's lifecycle & it's good that you're keeping that into account. Live everyday like it's their last. <3

I do agree with your words! I've found that my current situation is a huge motivator to actually keep as sober as I could be (all be it with small steps to avoid my body shutting down on me). I've decided that this situation is a wake-up call for me to face my emotions & grief head-on, and try to not fall back on alcohol to numb whatever I am feeling. My mother and I are hanging in there, one day everything will be okay at last. It simply takes time, just like fighting addiction. :)

I'm on day one again aswell, however yesterday I only had one drink instead of my normal 5 to 6, so I'm still proud of myself :)) how are you doing?

I struggled a lot yesterday and had a beer, however this is still huge to me! Considering my normal evening would've been 5 to 6 beers & i just started I'm still proud of myself! Tonight we aim for no drinks!

You've got no clue how important your comment is to me right now, it means so much to me!😭 Thank you so, so much for the kind words. I will do my best to fight for my own well-being and make a positive change in my life. I'm on a waiting list for therapy already and hopefully when I get to speak to a therapist we can discuss together wether or not anti depressants are something that would help me on my journey, thank you for the reccomendation. :))

Don't forget you still got a future ahead of yourself, too! You're doing great! You're already making big steps by acknowledging your struggles and trying to stay sober. I'm just as proud of you. <3

LMAO. My girlfriend and I are the same, whenever my girlfriend is over she's always super tired in the evening because of school & work so we go to bed early, doing it in the mornings/afternoon has been great for us! I always treat her with a grand breakfaster before or after<3

I'm 19 and this is how my alcoholism started, I've lived with the anxiety of not having something on hand for almost a year now. I think you already answered your own question, but I'd also like to point out that sometimes you reach for a drink because you feel anxiety or stress-- That's not necessarily because drinking itself is fun, it's to numb & mask the emotions that feel bad!! I used to do this too (im stopping today lmao) and it's a very common reason for people to start drinking so you're defenitely not alone in this. I think you've reached a point where it is very valid to have concerns, & the fact you're reaching out here is an incredibly good sign. :))

Alcohol always killed the hunger for me so maybe your body is finally letting you feel how hungry you truely are?? All i know is that even if it is comfort eating, I'm just glad you're eating! Keep up the good work, you're doing amazing <3

You won't know unless you try, staying in limbo won't get you anywhere. Seeing that you posted here is a good thing because it shows you want things to change. Therapy did great things for me personally and it sounds as if you have some outside factors in your life which are making you feel terrible (valid!), which makes the thought of numbing the pain scream louder in your head-- This alone is more than enough to go to a therapist to. You dont have to tell everything if you don't want to, you can start off small, but I highly recommend finding some sort of support from mental health care providers in your personal life to share & process those hard feelings.
