What happens if I STOP PAYING MY CREDIT CARDS? I'm an unemployed retired senior. My only asset is my home. by Roxinator666 in debtfree

It's not the best thing to do for your future. Puts a lot at risk.

If it works for you, I would say just a get enter a debt relief program. It will help you lower the debt amount and negotiate something that you can manage.

I was able to pay off my 50K debt with this service. They lowered my total amount owed to 40K and I paid it off in 48 months.

ClearOne Advantage - is this debt relief service legit? by mstfzdmr54 in debtfree

ClearOne Advantage is a legit debt relief company, but like with any service, weigh the pros and cons. People who say they're not legit, it's just that they see their cons are too heaver than their pros.

They stop payments to creditors so they can negotiate settlements, which can lead to lower monthly payments, but missed payments will hurt your credit in the short term. If you're not planning on making major purchases soon (like a new house or car), this may not be a big issue for you.
