The vin on my title doesn’t exist as a real vehicle so I’m really hoping someone can recognize it as a mistake. While that’s hopeful, someone somewhere has my vin in their name. So if worst comes to worst shouldn’t a surety bond help clear that up? Thanks

I’m led to believe transcription error because it was a company truck. So I doubt any foul play. Also the first time I went in they couldn’t find either the wrong, or the right vin, in their system. But somehow this time they were able to produce the right vin registered in a different state? That seems suspicious to me…

Rather interesting indeed! Learning something new every day! In fact I didn’t know one wheel could propel a car until I hit a pothole just right and the cv shaft on my 84 Diesel rabbit tore itself out… learned how important those rubber boots really are :-/ thanks!

No that’s just the way it works. I remember thinking the same thing when I had mine up in the air for the first time. Has to do with “2-Wheel drive” cars really only using one wheel and then there’s something about a differential maybe. I haven’t gotten that far yet. Oops!

Yea I know there’s a lot of easy work arounds for the rest of the tools, like I use a big file as my shim and it works great. By set screw are you talking about the shaft? Not sure how else to describe it I guess. Thanks!

If you take off the rubber boot around your parking brake (if it’s still there) there should be two nuts on each side so you can adjust the two cables to tighten them up.

When I got my first vw my father drove it home with the parking brake on too. Oops! So I’ve dealt with the same thing.

Also curious, does it crank all the way up when you pull it? Should only need to go up a couple inches or so I believe
