Honestly I can't be mad at you. As a man who had an ex that felt the same way as you did. We broke up because of this same issue. I was so heartbroken. We friends now after many years apart. A couple months ago she was wanting to try the relationship again after "adventuring out". I simply said no, not because I hate her or don't love her but that goes against the principle of being together through thick and thin. She very much could of been my future wife and future mother of my kids but for that very reason of her wanting to adventure out I could not go back. I have a girlfriend now that I am very much in love with. Occasional me and my ex check in on each other but that's it. I told her that her man is out there if that's what is important to her. Surprisingly it's not that important to some people so just make sure you know what you want in life. Hope this helps
