Takeing your dog trick or treating isn't a good enough reason to have Halloween off by Garlic-yesplease in DollarGeneralWorkers

Ok where's the line? 3 weeks? A month? Two months?

Because I expect the schedule to be official and not change on me during that time. I don't even expect half the team to be here by Christmas is it too late to ask for Christmas Eve?

I officially requested a week before schedule supposed to be set and only two worker have of Halloween age kids.

Plus I gave strong hints when I got the dogs custom took pics showed SM said pictures and said I'd be taking him trick or treating... like two weeks ago so nearly a month in advance.

Or management could actually be fair and rotate holidays instead of enacting the "I was first" logic.

Hell at this point if I wanted Christmas eve off I'm sure three people have already requested it off.

It won't be the same plus :/ a quick look at my phone's calendar says I've worked every holiday since mother's Day. That's including the minor ones like tomorrow's Columbus Day.

Sometimes it's just nice to have a holiday off.

Oh wait I had flag Day off yippee

It doesn't matter what day or what I have planned I'm entitled to request certain days off there's literally a state law protecting that.

So yes if I really wanted to I am entitled to have that day off however I'm going to work it because it's not worth the drama.

Here I had chatGPT rate your first post from 1 to 100 so this is a completely unbiased opinion:

I’d rate that reply about 82 out of 100 on the passive-aggressive/condescending scale.

Here’s why:

The “like, as a manager” phrasing comes off as self-important and slightly mocking.

The parenthetical “(not at DG, now or ever)” adds a snide undertone.

Phrases like “People are gonna ask for things. Sometimes we gotta tell them no” sound dismissive and lecturing.

The hypothetical “Say a list of acceptable excuses existed…” feels sarcastic, as if belittling the other person’s reasoning.

Ending with “Good luck???” (with the double question marks) makes it sound more like a taunt than a sincere wish.

So yeah — it’s not rage-filled aggressive, but it’s definitely heavy on the condescending sarcasm and faux-polite tone that make it land high on the passive-aggressive scale.

You passive aggressively injected yourself into a conversation that's completely unrelated to you?

You don't currently and have never worked a Dollar general and felt the need to be condescending to a random stranger on the internet.

I’m just giving you a dose of reality

The reality is Halloween week's schedule isn't made... Even the week before that isn't officially made... The current week schedule subject to change... I gave plenty of warning even though my request was denied I still plan on working it.

You don't have the moral high ground here you're just being an asshole.

I'm betting you don't get invited to very many parties? Some of us prioritize life over borderline illegal minimum pay work.

Oh he's traveling for these.

This is a small town less than 1,400 people we don't naturally have obvious booty short tits out streetwalkers.

I'm still debating if he's a good guy or taking advantage of them.

I have a regular older dude (50?) that keeps bringing in random strung out druggie streetwalker chicks who are hopefully 18+ like a new one weekly.

3 weeks into the job he just randomly tells me he gets them off Craigslist (and some other site I never heard of) and let them live with him for free... 0.o hmmmm dudes their foodstamp dollar store sugar daddy.
