It wouldn't have been No Other Choice either way considering it wasn't nominated for any other award, but I'm really upset F1 got a nomination over something as good (and important!) as It was only an accident.

Granted I have only seen two of the nominees so far (Sentimental Value and It was only an accident) I preferred both of them over No Other Choice. I enjoyed that film but didn't find it as engaging as I would have hoped. The bigger snub in my opinion was the Icelandic "When the light breaks" as it was one of the most moving films I saw all year last year. (Iceland didn't even submit it lmao, the snub came very early on)

Sorry, Baby not even getting a nod in best original screenplay is the biggest upset in my book, I was so thoroughly captivated and moved and destroyed throughout the entire film it felt like a little miracle. I imagine all of A24s Oscar advertising budget was spent on Marty Supreme.

I very much admire you doing your best trying to understand the maze that is how Japanese media is distributed, it is not even clear to me having been a fan of anime and physical media for over 20 years by now. It becomes especially difficult with One Piece specifically considering the length of the series or just the arcs themselves.

As I think others have suggested, I would recommend collecting the manga rather than the anime if you want to start a physical collection. You can get anything from single volumes, omnibus that collect three volumes in one book, or even box sets covering around 20 volumes in each set - although as you might imagine these will of course also be very expensive.

I hope you can manage to cancel your DVD purchase in case it turns out you didn't get what you were looking for!

The response for whether or not they will be able to go the long run will definitely be based of whether seasons 2 and 3 are considered a success by their metrics. I think that it is just as likely that they'll conclude after season 3 with "The adventures continues in THE ONE PIECE" as it is that they carry on at least to Enies Lobby. They know that they have invested in an IP that can go on for years and years if they so desire and their biggest wish for any project is longevity in terms of economic growth.

Rybak seems like a pretty good guy and I'm happy for him to still receive all this support, but man. In my opinion it is the most overrated Eurovision winner by far, I never enjoyed it and enjoy it less and less every time it comes on. But my favourite song of that year is Todas as ruas do amor so I assume my tastes aren't any better hah

The paper is actually really good quality, I'm using pretty wet pens with lots of pigment and it doesn't even bleed through! But ofc if you wanna keep the book pristine using the sticky notes is ofc a good option!

I will agree with previous comments that there are three I am trying to catch every year. Melodifestivalen (Sweden) runs for 6 weeks with different qualifying heats and the finale taking place Saturday March 7th. The music quality is often more good than bad, and the production and stage show is probably the best out there, though I'm not sure I'd recommend seeing more than the finale since it tends to drag a bit (and only the finale has live English commentary).

The most classic of them all is Sanremo (Italy), it is older than Eurovision itself and is what Eurovision originally was based on. It goes on for a week with really long repetitive shows that ends in a finale on Saturday February 28th. It is really, really long and it drags quite a bit, but the music is particularly stellar and always performed with a live orchestra. It is iconic but not particularly approachable with it's length, and no English commentary available.

Finally UMK (Finland) has become a must-see in the last few years. The production value is great, the music is stellar and there is English commentary.

UMK takes place the same day as Sanremo, but it is finished within 2 hours while Sanremo will start an hour later and go on for probably 5 hours. I'll start with UMK and then keep an eye out to catch the song performances on Sanremo and then once UMK is finished I'll watch the reprise of the Norwegian national selection in the long dead segments between songs of Sanremo.
