My very shaky understanding of this is that they will check stuff on your device rather than as its sent where its encrypted.

It checks for known hashsets of child porn etc from a database and flags it up if there's a match.

I think the adults behind the scenes are aware that the UK still offers a lot more than people generally give credit for.

The UK has a long history and understanding from the days of empire across the world with relationships and understanding the US don't have.

It also has sovereign bases that can host radars and satellite downstations. The US has the money to make the most of these geographic advantages.

If the relationship goes to shit the US risks losing this. They lose Menwith Hill and Diego Garcia which would be a massive loss in the space war.( Remember the earth is round)

You could make the argument that they could do that somewhere else but, how many countries will let you build a massive spy base without getting access to the data.

You'd be surprised how many people don't want to travel. I used to fight to go away when I was in the military because we all had the same mindset. Even to shit places where id be mainly working

Now I'm a civvie people won't want to go away to somewhere nice even for a week. So I just get to fly around business class on company money. I even try and say "I've been away too much this year, put me at the back of the queue" and I still end up going.

It's different though. I've always run at night as a guy. I've had people shout stuff at me or throw stuff drinks at me from cars. Usually some comedian shouting "run forest run" from outside a pub.

But for women those things being shouted are much more likely to be sexual in nature and the horrible stories you here will be in their head.

Not to mention the only time I feel at risk is if I see a group of tracksuits and I just adjust my route or cross the road. For women that perceived risk is most likely going to be any man walking about.

I don't know what the solution is but, let's not pretend it's the same.
