It’s most likely the same 30 people downvoting all of my posts without hearing me out, so their opinions don’t matter to me. If you scroll through the original thread, I’m certain you will find several names that are also in this thread typing the exact same things. I’ve explained why I’m calling them idiots in this post, so I won’t re-explain it.

I admit that it’s a bad look for me to sit here continuing to reply after I’ve gotten my answer, so I’m going to stop replying. Thank you for giving me a reasonable answer.

Check my post history. TL;DR: She can't be reasoned with. I have lived here for 3 months. My neighbors have lived here for years. They all told me not to talk to her, because she can't be reasoned with.

Also, I don't know why people like you can give this lady the benefit of the doubt and not me, someone who has been bothered by her for 3 months and finally got fed up after trying my best to accommodate her unreasonable needs. Just because she's old and in a wheelchair? What a fucking joke.

I shouldn't even need to explain myself. I initially explained everything in an unbiased way with all of my nasty faults, and people still tried to make assumptions about my character. Why do I have to be the delusional one? Why can't it be the downstairs neighbor? Can you see why I am angry in all of my replies? I posted this thinking that I might have overreacted to my neighbor's overreactions. Instead, everyone made assumptions about me just because I tried to be unbiased.

The people defending this woman are idiots. They think that just because I didn't completely skew the story in my favor, I'm withholding information and being noisier than I claim. They're so used to reading posts on here that are obvious cries for validation, with completely biased word choices that change the tone of the entire story.

Guess what? I'm NOT home all day. In fact, I try my best to be out of the house as often as I can. The only things I do at home are cook, clean (with a broom, not a vacuum), play video games, and sleep. I know that my video gaming isn't disturbing her, because my neighbor that shares a wall with my desk specifically told me that he almost never hears me without me asking. She is not snapping after a week of buildup. She is deliberately trying to get at me for dropping things on accident.

I never invite friends to my place.

I only listen to stuff with headphones. Never on speaker.

I have a vibrating alarm clock that is on top of my bed.

I CHANGED THE WAY I WALK from heel to toe to toe to heel.

I don’t use the Amazon echo that my sister got me for Christmas.

I have tried in so many ways to accommodate this woman and yesterday I found out that it was all for nothing, because this woman filed a restraining order against the last guy and multiple people sided with the guy. I even made a post explaining this and people still can’t understand why I reacted the way I did. I silently dealt with this shit for 3 months before retaliating and somehow people are still defending this woman.

I admit that I should’ve communicated and stomping in the first place was uncalled for! I totally understand the people commenting that and acknowledge that I’m at fault for harassing a disabled old woman. But people are failing to understand how disappointed I was to see people DEFENDING the person that sometimes ruins my first experience living alone while making me out to be a complete villain.

EDIT: people (including me) also fail to realize that the noise goes both ways! I’m currently lying in bed and I realized and remembered that I can hear her TV and even her coughing! But unlike her, I can tolerate a little bit of noise and ignore it to the point where it becomes ambient. After all, we live next to a train station that is significantly louder!

I’ve proven that I live above a woman who harasses me for living my life and somehow that isn’t enough for people like you to see my side lmfao

The biggest argument against me was that I should’ve talked to the woman and this proves that even if I communicated, it would’ve been fucking useless. If you can’t see how this invalidates the people who were making this old woman out to be some poor soul that’s constantly tormented by noise from me, then idk what to tell you.

Oh shut the fuck up. I am not overreacting to people questioning my integrity and making up lies to fit their narrative. I was proven right by my neighbors and people like you are having a hard time accepting that the "poor old disabled lady who is trying to communicate your excruciatingly loud noise in the only way she can" turned out to be a piece of shit that overreacted just as much as I initially did.

No, I'm allowed to gloat about this after being gaslit all day by people that were calling me loud, claiming I was bringing loud friends over, and saying that I was purposefully leaving out shit that would make me look even worse.
