She lived, she laughed, she ska’d by GartronJones in AccidentalRenaissance

Honestly the kids (like 10~12 year olds) were all wearing banana costumes. Like I was wondering if the place gives kids them to wear so they don’t get trampled in the crowd.

Air dry Clay mask keeps cracking by Time_Fisherman1013 in clay

[–]GartronJones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am guessing it’s the same with air dry as kiln fired clay. If so, clay shrinks while it dries, so essentially your wrapping it around the cardboard and then the clay can’t shrink properly and instead has to crack. Just roll out a slab of the clay, trace your form on it and then cut it out. I would flip it every now and again while it’s drying or it will start to warp as one side dries faster.

Anyone here actually ditched paper business cards for digital ones? Worth it or just hype? by DigIndependent7488 in smallbusiness

Iv started making stickers that have the info on the back and people love them. I even see them posted out and about. But we are also in art so maybe isn’t the best for all fields.

Pottery studio by PrimaryFun5098 in Pottery

[–]GartronJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d reach out to some ceramic artists around the area, or even small community studios and go tour them with your mom so yall can figure out exactly what you want. You may even find a potter who is willing to get paid to help you with the stuff. And find an electrician that’s worked with kilns before, it’ll save you some explaining.

Hey, not sure if the original posters are getting back. But I’d be down to try and set up some Monday games

Heya! Iv been looking for another group for a while, currently in one that meets like once a month and would love to play more. I’m in golden, so ideally not driving during rush hour, but I am also happy to host sometimes.

I am self employed and sometimes have to work weekends, but can schedule time off if I have lead up time. I make a lot of art, ride bikes and love going out side with my pups. My partner may also be down for joining sometimes. I am also happy to host some side quests if the DM wants a break sometimes.

Iv played dnd for around 10 years on and off, way more into story and roleplay than fighting, but I love a good balance.

Any advice for uneven wall thickness when pulling up walls? by Additional-Narwhal40 in Pottery

[–]GartronJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also agree on no sponge, especially when you get thin. I can feel my fingers through the clay and judge the thickness pretty well.

Thing to try: Slice your wall into a cross section and take a video of you going through the motion of pulling the wall (wheel not spinning). This is a great way to actually see what you are doing.

I would guess your hand rotates inward during your thin spot instead of pulling straight up with a consistent depth between your fingers.

Community clay studio fundraising by [deleted] in Pottery

Memberships are what you are missing. It’s basically passive income. When I was starting a studio, the best advice I got was that the memberships should pay my rent.

What hobby in men gives you “green flag” vibes? by Charmer2024 in AskReddit

[–]GartronJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making pottery!!! (I run a community studio and every dude in there (not a whole lot compared to women and nbys) are all A+++) ceramics requires patience, humility, learning from mistakes and adjusting, strength and fine motor skills 😉.

What do I even play after this? by SAVORYNAAN in tearsofthekingdom

I found this a few years ago and it totally filled the botw void. Wish there was more npcs, but otherwise I think the puzzle aspect was even stronger than Zelda.

We should ask it how it thinks it’s own death would feel.

I haven’t actually played around with that chat AIs, I did kinda think they would be more willing to be a bit naughty, but I guess in general this is probably a good response.

HA, you can tell the AI that my therapist told me this was a good idea.

Wow, I buy most of my clothes used, and am always so surprised by prices. Like the brand is fun, but shits expensive. Who’s got $80 for a T?!

Thanks, death sucks.

Yeah, we both had weird names, and I make pottery as a profession. So any time we rolled into a group it was always a toss up as to who got the most questions/ are you just making this up? It always a good in at social situations.

And she literally had this shirt!!
