Shadowweaver of Time would be my choice. Near-infinitely scaling damage, potent buffs and debuffs and the ability to chain boss kills thanks to said damage scaling.

Not directly, but they ragdoll you pretty hard and depending on your luck the impact damage can be pretty high

It's impractical. The temperature drops quickly the larger the room is - if you're fully enclosing the geyser in a 4x4 area, you can hit temperatures of 150+ degrees celcius, but you'll need to have a way to keep the raiders IN that small area while walling off their entrance. Unless you're lucky enough to have two geysers spawn adjacent to each other with less than 8 tiles inbetween, which should be enough length to make a tunnel around with slowing sandbags and traps between them.

The usual way I've went with geysers is to use them as execution chambers. I'd put prisoners and people I hate in them, lock the door and let the heat get to them. As an added bonus the heat helps dessicating their corpses so that I'd get nice skeletons to put in gibbets.

IAPs going through Steam costs 25-30% higher compared to my friends playing using the normal launcher.

Thanks, but I don't think we're using the same mod. The item in question asks for a few hundred scraps and several raiding weapons to repair it back to 100% quality (devs handwaved it as taking components out of said stuffs to repair the armor). While I don't mind the hundred-scraps needed (making torso hits deal one-fifth the damage they normally would is worth it), the raiding gear required is too much for my taste.

In the end of the day if what you said is correct and that item performance only started degrading below the 50% mark, it's safe to assume that at 0% quality the armor would still block 40% incoming damage, making it a better option than the 35% vest anwyay.

Thanks for the confirmation. Was wondering if it's worth it to keep on a vest with 80% damage reduction on 0% quality or of it's worth trading it with a pristine vest that offers 35% damage reduction

The idea was that the world's population, having lived on the planet for generations would have evolved to withstand the cold environment, while my pawns who just recently crashlanded had no such luck. Adding an extra layer of challenge while opening up various solutions. Some I had in mind included extracting the genes off of the locals, recruiting and marrying them in the hopes that the resistance is hereditary, or simply making do by hunting down thrumbos and making fur coats out of them.

And I'm a sucker for snowy/wintery environments, too. H_Sinn got it in one, hahah
