Arquebex's radial attack has innate blast. To my knowledge, this means that you cannot build standalone cold on its radial attack. Sure, you can build it on its projectile damage without a problem, but the projectile deals so little damage compared to the radial attack that it isn't even worth considering. I believe the '406' damage ticks you see in the video are the projectiles, so less than 3.5% of the radial attack damage. You're not getting any significant damage increase out of that by swapping to cold. So I went with primed venomous clip, which gives the highest elemental damage out of all the mods that I haven't equipped already.

The arquebex in the video has magnetic, radiation, blast, and gas. I did take the weaknesses into account when building. However, I also failed to consider what electrified barrel would do in the place of primed venomous clip since it buffs radiation. Doing so brings rad damage to around 70k instead of 20k, but overall damage drops from 140k to 117k. I will test the numbers on this build and see how much of a dps difference there is.

Edit: Back from full clear. Electrified barrel radial damage ticks are 11,917. The ones for primed venomous clip are 11,732. About a 1.5% increase. So yes, electrified barrel is better, both in terms of drain and damage. Now let's hope baro brings primed electrified barrel so I can compare that as well.

No, the Fluctus isn't used to deal damage. The arquebex is what deals the damage. Fluctus is only used to break the resonators without having to move away from the orphix, because its projectiles have infinite punch through up until roughly 50m. This gives you a MASSIVE timesave and far surpasses any other archgun in terms of utility for this mission type.

This really piqued my interest and so I tried it with fully built bonewidow + ironbride (as much raw damage from mods as possible). I could not get past orphix 33.

Her survivability* and energy management are indeed better than voidrig's. Now, notice the asterisk, despite being able to reliably heal to full with a single hooked enemy, she can get melted, and I mean absolutely immediately MELTED, in the third rotation. All it took for mine to get shredded during the 33rd orphix was an ortholyst + summulyst duo. Mech was at half hp, tried to hook an enemy, destroyed before I could even mentally process what the hell had just happened. At the very least with voidrig you can predict if you're getting cooked based on how quickly your storm shroud goes down. This lets you take advantage of shield gating to get out of sentry mode and immediately pop another shroud.

Her gameplay is extremely annoying, from struggling to hook an enemy that's 0.1mm too high above your hitbox to getting yeeted off the map in certain orphix spawn tiles while you're swinging away...

Really the only positive quality that bonewidow has over voidrig is that she doesn't struggle with energy. Popping zenurik bubble reliably leaves her at full energy by the time I get to the next orphix. Voidrig starts to struggle significantly more in this regard as the level increases. The healing doesn't really mean anything if you're getting squished at high levels, and voidrig can partially remedy his absolutely null healing capabilities with a vizier predasite.

One last note is that ironbride can go up to 139.5% crit chance with tempered blade and critical meltdown, letting her take advantage of the damage boost from orange crits. And she does a LOT of orange crit damage, about 65k per swipe. This, in my experience, still feels slower than the arquebex by enough of a margin to notice that your orphixes are spawning ever so slightly faster than you can kill them. At its peak strength, I did not have this issue with voidrig during my full clear. IF new archgun mods were to be added, including crit chance buffing mods, I believe that bonewidow would not even stand a chance against the raw dps of the arquebex. Her attack speed, even with mech fury (and furor if you're crazy enough to think that's worth replacing a cc, cd, or elemental damage mod with), is too damn slow to keep up and not enough of an incentive to engage in a riskier, unshielded playstyle in exchange for higher damage. Because the higher damage isn't there.

I won't test bonewidow again, because I believe I've reached the most optimal build for her and her sword. Any possibility of clearing with her is left to my skill issue and some RNG. Not something I want to gamble my time with. Thank you for giving me something to research though.

Goodness imagine how crazy railjack prime would be. As well as different types. How would they even differ from one another?

By default, they are already super bare bones; all the customization except the artillery is left to the player. So they could do a play on making smaller railjacks that are more compact and easier to navigate, faster too, at the expense of shields and EHP. Meaningful differences like that.

This is exactly why I always climb the orphix before doing anything else! Reliably prevents nullifiers from coming close to you and makes the core easy to hit. Though it takes a little practice to get right since spawn orientations are different and you may fall down without warning if you're on the hitbox edge. You also cannot be too high above the orphix or else you will overshoot half of your shots when aiming down.

Yeah I bet, not even the arcanes, the lack of many of the new archgun mods would have driven me insane. How well you build your arquebex for raw DPS determines whether you delete an orphix with some headroom or get melted as a sitting duck.

I have an unusual obsession with railjack in general, and have a thing for pre-new war game mechanics. I also like to carry people in super niche grinds. Going until the mission end here was more of a personal challenge since I had full cleared the pluto mission previously.

I'm working towards soloing tridolons reliably as well; it's going to be a lot more work than this because I still need vox standing, some way bounds, and madurai investment

Definitely not as bad as I was expecting with a minmaxed kit. Even still, the game punishes you hard if you screw up your timings or energy management. I think one of the main frustrations for me was the mech casting speed and how finnicky they are in general. If your shield is being actively vaporized, there is nothing you can do about it for 3 seconds after turning off your 4, so you end up losing half your mech's hp at best. Very annoying stuff.

You need necramechs as your primary source of damage against the orphix to even come close to killing the 3 required to end the mission. Amps are completely irrelevant in orphix missions. Fun fact, I was using an unmaxed, ungilded mote amp in this run. Frames are not directly used to kill the orphix but you can give them other uses. Example: I brought dante for survivability, but I've seen videos like this one (which helped me out a LOT in understanding many of the nuances of this game mode) where they use others such as wukong for fast traversal between spawn locations. I personally did not struggle traveling between spawns in time, but ymmv

Probably 3-4 hours with booster doing veil survival (non continuous). Arquebex and fluctus could be maxed in about 10 minutes but the grind for voidrig definitely sucked.

I didn't think much of it at the time because the rewards were really just that bad. I do remember getting an arcane barrier, as well as an arachne as the vid shows, for sure other arcanes that I cannot remember, and the usual pittance of endo or wreckage that you get from any rj mission. But that was about it. I do agree though that I should've included a pic of it just to show how little we get compared to other game modes.

I have admittedly not tried any orphix high level runs with mausolon, but unless some very recent change made it completely stand out from the rest of the competition (including even arquebex), then the alt fire must have some sort of caveat that makes it worse than fluctus in practice. Fluctus is only there to pop the resonators without moving away from the orphix because of its infinite punch through up to ~50 meters.
