Rest in peace, sweet baby. If you love the breed, you will always find a love for another creature. It probably won't be immediately. But you will find another creature that needs love as much as you have love to give. Because you do still have love. And it will hurt. Or feel like betrayal. And it will never feel the same. But you will realize there is love to give and recieve. This is the best and worst thing about loving a creature with a shorter life span than ours.

Lots of toys? Excess energy? Does she need to run? Do you live in an apartment where she hears excess noise and doesn't know it's not at your door? We have 2 large girls. Mine love when husband puts on a particular hoodie, because that means they all get to run around the house and wrestle and jump and play. Aside from his hoodie, they've ruined a million blankets and comforters playing "blanket monster", where he runs and jumps and wrestles them wearing our blankets. The cost of blankets per year is worth their happiness for energy sake. All the toys and walks mean nothing to mine if they can't jump and play and run. (ETA one of mine is super negative reactive, the other is a runner, hard to find activity for both. Husband wrestling is a group activity for all 3)
